ACSPN, APCON Collaborate On New Thematic Book On Digital Advertising

The Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) in engaging with major stakeholders, has produced a thematic book titled “Advertising in Post Digital Era: The Profession, Business and Development Imperatives for Nigeria” – a product of the maiden edition of the National Advertising Conference, organised by the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) in November 2019. 

The book was co-authored by Prof Rotimi Olatunji, ACSPN Vice President- South West; Dr. Oludare Ogunyombo, ACSPN Linkages Officer who also served as the Chair, Papers and Documentation Sub-Committee of the National Advertising Conference and Mr. Joe-Eugene Onuorah, APCON Deputy Director/Head of Registration and Professional Development. ACSPN’s General Secretary and Vice-Chancellor, Caleb University, Imota, Lagos. Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, wrote the foreword of the book.

Published by APCON, the book with a 2020 publication date, has 14 chapters. Contributors include the Doyen of Advertising Biodun Shobanjo who wrote on “Advertising in Nigeria- Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow “;  ‘Lolu Akinwunmi who wrote on “Advertising in The Post-Digital Age: The Profession, The Business and Nigeria’s Socio-Economic” Development and Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Federal Government who wrote on Role of Government in Advertising in the Post- Digital Era among other eminent personalities.

In a related development ACSPN is calling for Papers for the 9th Annual Conference of the Association holding from The August 31 – September 1, 2022 programme, at Rockview Hotel, Abuja. The conference which will feature a Special Panel with the theme: “One Country, Many Voices, Dilemmas of free expression” will be a hybrid event – both physical and virtual.
