Noah’s Ark Emerges Nigeria’s Most Creative Agency As DDB, X3M, Others Shine At LAIF 2017

Noah’s Ark Communications has emerged Nigeria’s most creative agency at the just concluded Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival, LAIF, held at the at the Landmark Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos recently.

The agency achieved this feat when it won the Grand Prix for its globally acclaimed and awarded ‘Lost’ job, a television commercial it created for the Airtel brand. This will be the first time in the last two years the Grand Prix is been awarded at LAIF. The last time it was awarded was in 2015. The recipient was also Noah’s Ark communication for a Press Ad tagged ‘Obama for Gala’ it created for the Gala brand.

The Lanre Adisa-led agency also won six Gold, nine Silver and seven Bronze medals, making a total of 23 medals in addition to the Grand Prix.

The overall winners for last year’s LAIF, DDB Lagos also had a good showing at the awards as they emerged the most awarded agency of the evening and clinched the second position on the LAIF table in style with 9 Gold, 11 Silver, 14 Bronze medals, making it a whopping  34 medals in all.

The foremost creative powerhouse which celebrated its 30th anniversary yesterday had among its gold wins works like Julius Berger ‘Worker’s Day’, MTN ‘Together in Love’, Infinix, ‘Jingle with Annor’ and Verve ‘Easter Crew of Thorns’.

Rounding up Nigeria’s top three most creative agencies at LAIF 2017 is X3M Ideas which placed third on the medal table with nine Gold, 5 Silver and 6 Bronze, carting home 20 medals in all.

The Steve Babaeko led agency which has consistently been within the top five most creative agencies in Nigeria won gold medals for ad campaigns like Etisalat ‘Easyblaze’, 9Mmobile Launch pidgin jingle, Cloud9 ‘Independence Guitar’, ‘XX Takeover’ and Martel ‘Be Curious’.

Fourth on the medals table is 7even Interactive, a creative agency that opened shop some two years ago. The agency replicated it’s international win at the Loeris in August at LAIF four Gold, five Silver and seven Bronze medals, making a total of 16 medals in all.

Completing the top five most creative agencies positions is Up in the Sky, an equally young agency. The agency stunned by winning four Gold and a Bronze medal, getting five medals in all. The agency has also had international recognition this year as well.

BBDO is sixth on the table with nine medals. A breakdown shows it has two Gold, three Silver and four Bronze medals. Leo Burnette occupies the seventh position with a Gold, a Silver and three Bronze medals to cart home five medals in total.

STB McCann is eight on the table with three medals-one Gold and two Bronze. 141 Worldwide follows behind a Gold and bronze medal while SO&U completes the top ten with three silver and two bronze medals.

DKK Associates, Culture Communications, Verdant Zeal, Centrespread, Aadeptus, TBWA, LTC, Etu-Odi and Dijo communications are other agencies that won medals at LAIF.

Senator Akin Odunsi, Chairman and Founder, Rosabel Advertising group/ Past President of AAAN; and Dr. Tunji Olugbodi,  Founder, Verdant Zeal and First Chairman, LAIF Management Committee were specially rewarded with LAIF Time Achievement Award and LAIF Special Recognition Award, respectively.
