The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has firmly endorsed the Association of Corporate and Marketing Communication Professionals in Banks (ACAMB) as a vital force in accelerating economic growth via robust reputation management. The CIBN President, Prof. Pius Olarenwaju issued the endorsement when ACAMB executives and trustees visited the institute’s chamber in Victoria Island, Lagos State. This support highlights ACAMB’s work in narrowing perception divides and strengthening customer faith amid Nigeria’s banking recapitalization challenges.

Timing is perfect as banks grapple with capital hikes and stakeholder demands. ACAMB, steered by President Babajide Sipe since January 2026, has tackled misinformation head-on, recently educating content creators on recapitalisation facts and rolled out quarterly knowledge forums. CIBN Registrar, Mr. Akin Ricketts, affirmed, “ACAMB stands as a beacon for ethical communications propelling financial inclusion and stability.”

According to Olanrewaju, ACAMB’s strides, a refreshed executive council, revamped secretariat, NIPR/APCON certifications, digital platforms, all these equip the association to forge top communications. CIBN praised ACAMB’s focus on tackling pain points like pricing transparency and service fees, fostering non-inflationary growth tales.

The partnership heralds shared policy crafting, experience exchanges, and cohesive campaigns to polish banking’s image. “Banks must shine as prosperity engines,” noted Ricketts, urging unified efforts. As Nigeria’s economy gains traction, ACAMB readies communications experts to spin regulatory successes into gripping brand narratives.
