2026 Pitcher Awards Postponed

The Pitcher Festival of Creativity, Africa’s platform for recognizing excellence in marketing, advertising, and creative communications, has rescheduled its 2026 edition to accommodate unprecedented demand from creative professionals across the continent. The festival will now run from 28 to 30 May 2026, extended from its original May 14-16 window to allow proper evaluation of the high volume of submissions received.
The extended entry deadline, which prompted the reschedule, reflects how brands and agencies are increasingly investing in pushing creative boundaries and competing for recognition at what remains Africa’s most credible creative benchmark. The date shift underscores growing momentum in Africa’s creative economy.
The move signals a maturing creative market where African brands are no longer content with regional recognition, they’re competing for continental validation. The Pitcher Awards, which conclude the festival, evaluates work across marketing, advertising, digital, media, PR, and entertainment sectors, positioning participating brands as innovators shaping how African companies connect with audiences of over 1.3 billion people.
The rescheduled programme opens on 28 May with the announcement of the Pitcher Awards 2026 shortlist. The three-day schedule will feature online sessions including Pitcher Talks, reviews from the Young Pitcher Academy and Future Pitcher Student Academy, and “Inside the Jury Room”, offering rare access to jury perspectives on standout continental work. Final rounds of both Young Pitcher and Future Pitcher competitions will showcase emerging African creative talent before the prestigious Pitcher Awards Show concludes the festival with winner announcements.
The full 2026 programme schedule launches Monday, 18 May on the Pitcher Festival website with registration opening simultaneously, allowing stakeholders, brands, and industry professionals to plan their participation in Africa’s premier creative celebration.
