Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group would be speaking at the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Abuja, where he is expected to share his views on the global business climate and Africa’s economic development.
Dangote made the commitment recently when a delegation from the global public relations community visited him in Lagos. The team was led by Prof. Justin Green, who is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.
The forum, hosted by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in partnership with the Global Alliance, is scheduled for Abuja from November 15 to 21, 2026, under the theme “Responsible Communication: The Voice of the World.” It will run alongside the 37th conference of the African Public Relations Association.
Green, who is in Nigeria on an official visit to review preparations for the event, said Dangote’s participation would let the businessman share his experience with delegates from around the world, alongside other international speakers. He praised Dangote’s investments across Africa, saying his contributions to different sectors of the continent’s economy led to the invitation.
Green also asked prominent Nigerians and companies to support the event, describing it as a national rebranding project that could help reshape Nigeria’s image abroad.
NIPR President Dr. Ike Neliaku said the forum would give Nigeria a chance to tell its own story and influence global conversations on issues of shared concern. He said the country was committed to hosting the “biggest, brightest and boldest” edition in the Global Alliance’s history, adding that preparations had made significant progress.
Neliaku called for continued support from Nigerians, companies and governments at all levels, describing the forum as a major chance to build Nigeria’s reputation and show it can host global events.
The Federal Government has also pledged full support for the event. Information and National Orientation Minister Mohammed Idris gave the assurance last week when he received Neliaku and Green in Abuja.
The visit to Dangote is one of several stakeholder meetings undertaken as Nigeria prepares to welcome public relations and communication professionals from around the world.
