Johnny Drille, 75-Member Nigerian Choir Bring Coca Cola’s 75 Year Journey To Life With New Anthem

Coca Cola is celebrating its 75 years in Nigeria with the release of a special anniversary anthem created by Mavin Records star Johnny Drille.
The Anthem performed with a 75-member Nigerian choir, captures the brand’s long standing connection with generations of consumers across the country.
Released recently, the Coca-Cola Anthem forms part of the brand’s ongoing anniversary campaign, which has already featured special 60cl packaging and other nationwide consumer activities celebrating its seven and a half decades in Nigeria.
For Johnny Drille, the project offers an opportunity to translate the brand’s history and relationship with Nigerians into music. The singer, whose style is known for its warmth and emotional quality, said he was excited to take part in the project, particularly because of the diversity represented by the choir.
“I was so excited to work on this because the choir has 75 Nigerians from different parts of the country,” Drille said.
The 75-member choir represents the number of years Coca Cola has operated in Nigeria, giving the anthem a symbolic connection to the milestone. The collaboration also draws from Drille’s own musical background, having grown up singing in a church choir and previously worked with a community choir on his debut album.

The four minute plus track opens with a chant of “Coca Cola,” followed by an upbeat sound that evokes the excitement associated with opening a bottle of the drink. The song then develops around percussion and Drille’s vocals, with lyrics reflecting the brand’s presence across different aspects of Nigerian life.
For the singer, the song also presents Coca-Cola as more than a beverage brand, portraying it as a familiar presence that has shared many of the moments experienced by Nigerian families over the years.
Drille’s musical journey has also shaped the character of the collaboration. The singer rose to wider recognition after participating in MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2013 and was signed to Mavin Records by Don Jazzy in 2017. His catalogue includes songs such as “Wait For Me” and “Loving is Harder,” while his Johnny’s Room Live concerts have become a recurring platform for his music.
His vocal style, often associated with warmth and nostalgia, complements the anthem’s focus on memories and shared experiences. The choir further adds a communal quality to the recording, bringing together voices from different parts of Nigeria to represent the generations that have grown up with the brand.
The collaboration forms part of Coca Cola’s wider 75th anniversary activities in Nigeria. The company recently introduced limited edition 60cl PET bottles across Coca Cola Less Sugar, Coca Cola Zero Sugar, Fanta and Sprite variants as part of the celebration.
The anniversary packs offer consumers 20 percent more product than the standard 50cl bottles, providing an additional 10cl at no extra cost. The campaign also includes nationwide consumer focused activities designed to reward customers and strengthen the brand’s relationship with consumers.
Coca-Cola has operated in Nigeria since 1951, making the anniversary a significant milestone in the company’s local history.
With the anthem, the brand has turned the anniversary into a musical reflection of its relationship with Nigerian consumers, using a local artist and a 75-member Nigerian choir to represent 75 years of shared moments.
