Adaramola, Evbuomwan, Osagiede, Others To Headline WiM Africa Real Talk Debate Tomorrow

Seun Adaramola, Marketing Director, West Africa, Visa; Osato Evbuomwan, Senior Director, Marketing, Coca-Cola; Esosa Osagiede, Group Creative Director, Insight Publicis and other industry leaders are set to headline the Real Talk Lagos Debate. The event which is organised by Women in Marketing (WiM) Africa, is scheduled to hold tomorrow at La Bamba, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
Real Talk is a series by WiM Africa, the pan-African arm of the global Women in Marketing network, which brings women and male allies together through community, partnerships, knowledge sharing and recognition. It began in early 2022 as a space for candid conversations about the experiences of women in marketing, advertising and business, and has since grown into a debate series. Earlier editions have held in Accra, Johannesburg and Nairobi, covering artificial intelligence, Gen Z and how global brands represent Africa authentically.
The debate, with the theme “From Creative Ambition to Impact: Is Nigeria Realising Its Creative Potential” will examine whether Nigeria is turning its creative influence, which extends well beyond its borders, into original work, business results and long-term influence on the industry.
Joining Adaramola, Evbuomwan and Osagiede are Emme Akande, Director, Regulation Monitoring and Enforcement, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON); Addy Awofisaye, Creative Economy Strategist & Founder Adeola Studios; Fiona Uwagwu, MD Special Projects and Chief Digital Officer, First Primus Group; and Brenda Nwagwu, President, Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria(MIPAN).
Oluwaseyi Layade, Chief Operating Officer of Leo Burnett Lagos and Chairperson of Women in Advertising, will moderate the session. A fireside chat will also feature Steve Babaeko, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of X3M Ideas, and Katharina Link, a chief executive in the media industry.
Commenting on the format, Head of WiM Africa, Andrea Djan-Krofa, disclosed in a post on Instagram that the series usually has two opposing sides, but this edition is different. “This time, we’re bringing together voices from across the creative ecosystem,” she said, adding that brands, agencies, media, creatives and industry leaders will sit around one table because the issues are bigger than any one part of the industry.
The event is co-hosted by the Women in Advertising (WIA) Committee of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), with Kantar as the official insights partner. According to the event announcement, the debate is expected to end at 8.30 pm.
