LAIF Awards 2016: AAAN Confirms Clement Omemu As Jury Chairman

Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has confirmed Mr. Clement Omemu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Black Sea Advertising and former Managing Director of Rosabel Advertising as the Chairman of Jury for 2016 Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) Award scheduled for December 3rd at the Muson Centre, Lagos, Nigeria.
LAIF award, which is a celebration of creative excellence in the nation’s advertising industry, has over the years continued to wax stronger with tremendous improvement. The annual award has also enabled practitioners to improve creative standards, making clients to build enough confidence in the nation’s agencies.
Disclosing this, our source said that the association chose Omemu based on his excellent track record as a creative director of repute having also served on the jury (television) of 2015 Loeries Awards in South Africa, an award which is highly respected. Usually the organisers of the Lorries appoint regional judges from all parts of Africa, sometimes, extending their search to other parts of the globe.
Also in a telephone conversation with Brand Communicator, Omemu confirmed that the executive council of AAAN has unanimously chosen him to be the jury chairman for the 2016 LAIF awards.
Omemu and the other members of the jury for 2016 Laif Award will be saddled with the responsibility of selecting the best creative works out of over 500 entries in all the categories of the awards.
Omemu is an experienced pop culture engineer, art director, strategist, designer and poet who has contributed immensely to the growth of integrated marketing communication landscape in the country.
It will be recalled that Brand Communicator reported last week that AAAN has added additional category for award for effectiveness in order to create competition among the agencies.
Entry for submission of creative works started on Friday August 18 to Friday September 23, 2016, with the provision for a two-week window.
Programmes lined up for the event include: Young Laifers award on Tuesday, November 29.To be followed by pre – award party on Friday November 25. Seminar and exhibition is also slated for Thursday December 1 while the award dinner will be held on Saturday December 3.
