Sam Osunsoko Floats Cognitio

Sam Osunsoko, a tested and trusted marketing communications professional has floated Cognitio, a marketing communications consulting firm. Cognitio opened shop just Monday 2nd July, 2018 in order to use its expertise to reposition brands and organisations within and outside the country.
Cognitio (which is a Latin word for ideas and knowledge) is established at a time when the business of marketing communications in Nigeria needs professionalism and repositioning to meet new global trends. According to Sam Osunsoko, Managing Partner, Cognitio Nigeria, “Cognitio came into being after months of thoughtful planning and consultations on how to contribute meaningfully to the growth of brands and organizations and marketing communications landscape in the country and West African sub-region.”
It is expected that the profile of the marketing communications consulting firm will be on the upward scale due to the capability of the workforce and remarkable services that the firm will be providing for clients. No doubt, Cognitio will surely cause disruption by adopting approach totally different from that of any marketing communications outfits in the industry.
Osunsoko was the former Managing Director of Leo Burnett Lagos, a subsidiary of Troyka Group and resigned after spending18 and half years of meritorious service to float Cognitio.
It will be recalled that under his leadership he won many accounts for Leo Burnett. During his tenure also, the agency’s first campaign, Konga was shortlisted in 2015 at the Cristal Award when the agency was just a few months old. The same campaign also won Campaign of the Year 2015 at the Marketing World Award.
It will also be recalled that the agency, under Osunsoko changed the game at the 2016 LAIF Awards by becoming fourth on the medal table. The agency won 13 medals in overall. Leo Burnett won three Gold, five Silver and five Bronze medals. Apart, Leo Burnett occupies the seventh position on the medal table of the 2017 Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival Awards with 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze totaling 5 medals.
Before joining Leo Burnett, Osunsoko was Head of Account Management function at Insight Communications from October 2012 – December 2014.
He attended University of Duke –Fuqua School of Business. He is also an alumnus of Lagos Business School where he did his Senior Management Programme and Advanced Management Programme in Marketing and Business Management.
