Again, Molfix Emerges Brand Of The Year, As Others Shine At ADVAN Awards

For the second consecutive time, the diaper brand, Molfix stole the show at the prestigious ADVAN Awards for Marketing Excellence as it clinched the most coveted Brand of the year award, the highest award of the night.

The award ceremony was held at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos over the weekend with the theme, “The business value of creativity” and also had brands like Power Oil, Munch It, Heineken, 33 Export, Coca-Cola and Airtel winning in other categories at the annual event.

Asides wining the Brand of the year awards, Molfix won in the CSR category beating Guinness and MTN which emerged 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively. Similarly, it also emerged the winner of the Experiential Marketing category beating Hi-life and Heineken that emerged 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively.

Meanwhile, in the digital marketing category, it didn’t win, rather it emerged the 1st runner up while Coca-Cola won the category and Airtel emerged 2nd runner up.

Remarkably, the night was a night of celebration for Hayat Kimya, the owners of Molfix, as Molped, a new brand under the stable of the company clinched the second position while Schweppes and Orinjin clinched the third position and first position respectively in the New Brand/Extention/Rev category.

Other brands also shined. For the innovation category, Power Oil won the first position while Sunlight and Indomie clinched the second and third position respectively.

Interestingly, for the product packaging category, Heineken clinched the first position while Goldberg and Munch it won the second and third position respectively.

In the consumer promotions category, 33 Export emerged the winner while Goldberg and Cowbell went home as the 2nd place and third place winners.

The campaign of the year was won by Airtel while Hero emerged second in the category and Amstel emerged third.

Amazingly, Munch It won the Consumer Choice Award, a special award that consumers voted for their favourite brands.

For the individual category, The Brand journalist of the year was won by Azeez Disu of Brand Communicator while Lekan Ajayi and Lekan Babatunde, both staff of Brand Crunch clinched the second and third position.

Meanwhile, for the Future Leader of Marketing, Ademola Aliu Funke emerged winner while Rolat Abiola Folake and Oluwanifemi Williams went home with the second and third position.

The entries submitted for the award were judged by dedicated and professional  jury members which include; Benson Osaretin Evbuomwan, Managing Director/CEO, Bosano Integral Services Ltd; Brenda Nwagwu, Principal Communications Consultant/CEO QTV Media Limited; Steve Babaeko, CEO/Chief Creative Officer, X3M Ideas; Patrick Enaholo, Lecturer Design and New Media Development, School of Media and Communications, Pan-Atlantic University.

Other members are Prof. Abigail Ogwezzy-Ndisika, HOD, Mass Communication, Unilag; Chuka Olise Eborah, Managing Director/CEO, Bechuro Nigeria Limited; Chuka Olise Eborah, Managing Director/ CEO, Bechuro Nigeria Limited; Alh. Ahmed Alex Omah, President of Africa Packaging Organisation; and Tolulope A. Medebem, COO/Lead Strategist, Aster Integrated Marketing Limited.

Recall before the event, the Executive Secretary, ADVAN, Ediri Ose-Ediale had said winners of the Awards for Marketing Excellence will now be showcased in the directory of all World Federation of Advertisers’ (WFA) member companies.
