The Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) has inducted four agencies to its association.

The agencies were inducted at the 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held Tuesday, 30th June 2020 and they include: Media 100, a member of the X3M Ideas Group; Ashmaukups owned by Oba Ayodele Kupoluyi; Alexia Media Solutions; and Scout Media Limited.

While congratulating the new members, MIPAN President, Femi Adelusi enjoined them to continue to contribute to the growth of media advertising landscape in the country, adding that the association in the last four years has admitted 12 members and now it has 31 members in total.

Meanwhile, the members pledged to abide by the code and conduct of MIPAN, regulatory bodies and ultimately work together to lift the media advertising industry to a greater height.

The Executive Secretary, MIPAN, Eki Adzufeh on his own part commended MIPAN Accreditation Committee for the job well done. He explained that “This standing Committee is usually led by the Vice President of the association. They have followed the set guidelines to accredit potential members. The committee does this exercise twice a year if and when agencies apply to be members of MIPAN.

“The key point here is to ensure that such agencies are adequately qualified both in the area of available Media Planning and Buying Tools, right personnel to mine such tools, ensure the true independence of such agencies in terms of accounts management and financial administration. Their good and thorough work has culminated into admission of some qualified agencies today,” he said.

In the same vein, he added that all the inducted members have met all the requirements and are worthy to be called a member of the association.

Interesting to note, MIPAN is an association of registered media advertising agencies which started in May 1999 with seven member companies.

The objective and purpose of the association include: to develop and improve the media advertising function in Nigeria by paying close attention to the discipline with a view to offering quantifiable value to the industry.

Also to encourage the entrenchment of merit based reward systems in the media advertising function in order to ensure continuous improvement and to facilitate the development of an enabling environment for the media advertising industry in Nigeria.
