Nkem Onwudiwe Joins TEF As Head, Marketing & Corporate Communications
Marketing and communications expert, Nkem Onwudiwe has joined the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF)-the leading philanthropy empowering African entrepreneurs- as Head of Marketing and corporate Communications.
The foundation made this announcement alongside two other senior executive appointments, effective February 1. This is following the launch of the 2021 TEF Entrepreneurship Programme on www.TEFConnect.com, which this year prioritises the economic recovery of small and medium scale enterprises and young African entrepreneurs, after the disruptive effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Making the announcement of the three appointments, Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu, CEO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, stated: “We are extremely pleased with these appointments. Somachi Chris-Asoluka becomties Director, Partnerships and Communications, from her prior role as Head of Policy and Partnerships. Titilope Akinola, who is now Director of Operations, served as head of our platform, TEFConnect, Africa’s leading digital hub for entrepreneurs; and Nkem Onwudiwe, who newly joins our Marketing and Corporate Communications team, brings formidable corporate experience, across digital marketing, content creation, PR and strategy.”

Nkem Onwudiwe is weel known as the founder of Her Network, a platform in Nigeria created to encourage women of all races, ages and sizes to help one another grow. This bold and ambitious PR & Communications entrepreneur leverages her skills and extensive network for spreading messages to the public via traditional and new media. Nkem is passionate about creating exciting events where women can come together, have real meaningful conversations, promote their businesses, sell their brands and build relationships with other women – bridging the gap between women and women.
In 2016, Nkem was recognized by Leading Ladies Africa as one of Nigeria’s Most Inspiring Women and has gone on to give back through her platform by creating the Annual Her Network Woman of the Year Awards in 2017 which focuses on discovering and celebrating outstanding women of Impact in Nigeria.
She is an alumna of the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), having graduated from the department of Marketing in 2007.
