AAAN President, Babaeko Calls On FG To Rescind Ban On Twitter

The president of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), Steve Babaeko has called on the federal government to rescind the ban on Twitter, so as to avoid further constraints faced by businesses in the country.
Babaeko made this call yesterday while speaking on the TVC News flagship business programme, Business Nigeria.
Lamenting that the continuous ban of Twitter will exacerbate the unemployment situation as well as reduce investment flow into the ICT value chain, the AAAN President says going by the current unemployment rate in the country, the situation will only grow worse. He likened FG’s action to ‘shooting off the head to solve the problem of headache.”
Mr Babaeko also said with a chunk of media spend on Twitter, media agencies and digital agencies will continue to lose revenue if government refused to lift the ban.
Relatedly, shortly after Babaeko made his call, the Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS) Court of Justice ruled against the Federal Government of Nigeria on the suspension of Twitter, saying the app is a fundamental right. The ECOWAS Court also ruled that the Federal Government cannot arrest or prosecute anybody for using Twitter.

This is one good piece again from you, I hope the government can take to good advice like this.
