NIMN 2022 Annual Conference To Focus On Technological Disruption

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has said its forthcoming 2022 Annual Marketing Conference billed for the 16th of June, 2022 will beam the spotlight on the place of data and technological disruption in business sustainability.
According to the NIMN, the conference which will hold at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, will have distinguished speakers and panelists across industries who will speak on the theme, “Driving business sustainability in the age of data and technology.”
explained that the conference is aimed at deepening the knowledge of marketers on how businesses can strategically leverage data and technology to build sustainable businesses.
Speaking at an interactive session the President of the Institute, Idorenyen Enang and members of the Events and Conferences Committee explained that the conference is aimed at deepening the knowledge of marketers on how businesses can strategically leverage data and technology to build sustainable businesses.
The President in his opening remarks stated that the purpose was to acquaint them with preparations for the Annual Marketing Conference, which is expected to attract marketing professionals, entrepreneurs, business leaders across different sectors of the economy. ‘The theme of the conference is topical and relevant to the Nigerian business community and is of interest to business across different sectors’, he remarked.
The theme for the conference, as revealed by the Chairperson of the Events and Conferences Committee, Adenike Olufade is, “Driving Business Sustainability in the Age of Data and Technology”. She said the choice of the theme was driven by the desire of the Institute to share with the audience how businesses are leveraging data and technology to achieve meaningful customer engagement an drive sustainable growth.
Delving further into the flow of the conference, the Chairperson of the Planning Committee, Mrs. Chioma Afe revealed that there will be a keynote speaker and two panel sessions: namely, Disruptive Marketing and The Future of Marketing in a Technology Driven World.
She added that the conference is expected to attract not just NIMN members but non-members as well. “The conference is billed to attract marketers cut across both cooperate organizations across all the industry as well as our agency partners-and also all those who enable our businesses, SMEs, entrepreneurs, and other professionals who want to learn practical ways to maintain relevance in every dynamic business environment.”
She added that the keynote speaker and discussants are practitioners from different sectors of the Nigeria economy who are deploying data and technology in their respective sectors to deliver exciting customer experience to their market segments.

Participation fee at the conference is pegged at 25,000 only for members of NIMN while non-members are to pay N35,000 naira only.
The conference will be followed by the induction of new fellows into NIMN at a grand ball scheduled to be held the same evening. According to NIMN, no fewer than 13 individuals are billed to be inducted into its fellowship, at the last count.
In a related development, the NIMN has also announced that its Annual General Meeting for the year will be held after the conference, on the 17th of June, 2022. The institute revealed that the AGM will be an avenue for filling two vacant posts at the institute.
Speaking to this, Registrar of the NIMN, Sydney Ogodo said the elective positions to be filled are that of the first and second vice-president. He added that the process for this is ongoing already as voting will commence a week before the AGM, while voting will be done through an electronic platform to allow every member of the institute and those outside the shores of Nigeria to exercise their franchise to vote for their preferred candidate.
The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) is the body for professionals engaged in marketing and related fields as marketing practitioners, sales and marketing directors, customer relationship managers, media planners, channel developers, creative directors, value builders, trade marketing managers, commercial managers/directors, brand builders, entrepreneurs, enterprise builders, corporate and institutional governors, transformers, marketing and mass communication experts, general managers, and Chief Executive Officers.

The Institute was established by Act of the National Assembly no. 25 0f 2003 with a chartered status conferred on it, the responsibility to regulate and standardize marketing professional practice through the conduct of comprehensive professional examinations and certifications, training, retraining and consultancy services geared towards ensuring that members adopt a professional approach to marketing and other related areas of marketing activities.
