The vast majority of Marketing Communication experts and analysts who were present at the just-concluded Brandcom Award agree that the duo of Sir Steve Omojafor and Iquo Ukoh were eminently qualified for being enlisted into the Hall of Fame last Friday. Both of them join a rich list of marketing communication gurus such as Biodun Shobanjo, Chairman, Troyka Group, Udeme Ufot, Group Managing Director of SO&U; Seni Adetu, a former Managing Director/CEO, Guinness Nigeria and Founder/GCEO, First Primus West Africa Limited; Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, Group Managing Director, CMC Connect Burson Cohn & Wolfe; and Ayo Oluwatosin, Group Managing Director, Rosabel Group and others.
The Hall of Fame Induction is part of the 2022 Brandcom Awards ceremony organized by Nigeria’s leading brands and marketing publication, Brand Communicator. Omojafor and Ukoh were inducted for their immense contributions to the growth of the brands and marketing communications industry.
Commenting on the awards, Convener of Brandcom Awards and Publisher of Brand Communicator, Joshua Ajayi stressed that the two distinguished personalities have contributed enormously to the growth of the integrated marketing communications industry and that is the reason they were recognized and celebrated.
He added that “We are indeed happy at Brand Communicator, to have taken up the challenge of creating a respectable platform that recognizes and rewards excellence in this very vibrant industry.”
Former Marketing Services Director of Nestle Foods Nigeria, Mrs. Iquo Ukoh has put in over three decades in core marketing practice up to the highest level. She is currently the CEO, of Entod Marketing Ltd. The marketing Amazon is also the founder of 1qfoodplatter, an instafamous food account that effectively uses colors, and lighting styling to get her followers to spend minutes with her in her creative food world.
Aside from being an accomplished marketing communication guru, Steve Omojafor is also an advertising icon and holder of the national award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). The septuagenarian advertising expert is the chairman of STB McCann. He holds a degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos. The business magnate is also the chairman of the Board of Trustees of Augustine University in Epe; the chairman, of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria.
Sir Steve was effusive in his praise for the recognition. “All I can say is that I deeply appreciate Brand Communicator for being consistent and courageous in harnessing the growth of the industry. This is a wonderful moment for me”.
