National Advertising Conference Enters Day Three As Stakeholders Geer Up For Paper Presentations, Town Hall Meeting, Maiden ASP Awards

The ongoing National Advertising conference holding in Abuja continues today with various strategic activities such as Paper Presentations, Town meetings, culminating with the meeting with the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo. Industry facilitators such as Chief Marketing Officer, MTN, Adia Sowho will be shining the spotlight on “Understanding the New Consumer from Gen Z to Alpha”. Similarly, Rotimi Pedro, FMEIL, will be speaking on “Building Nigeria’s new television audience measurement system while the Group Marketing Director, Jotna, Emmanuel Agu will be dissecting the topic tagged “From buying board space to buying mind space- new trends in OOH.
Others are “Improving diversity and inclusion in the Marcoms industry- closing the gap” by Biodun Adefila, COO, SO&U; “Creating Brand Experience in a Digital World- The future of Experiential Marketing” by Kola Oyeyemi, CEO Axiom Intel and “Regulating Digital Advertising – Lessons from other markets” by Ose Osundeko, Digitas among others.
These presentations will be followed by a Town Hall all meeting with the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo. The meeting with the DG will be preceded by Academic Presentations that have come to become a part of the conference since its inception.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee and President of the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria, (EXMAN), Mr. Tunji Adeyinka, had in an earlier engagement with the press stated that the ASP Award will be part of the Gala Nite, planned to draw the curtains on the second edition of the conference.
Recall, the conference commenced on Tuesday with a very interactive fireside chat with advertising icon and Dean of Lagos Business School, Professor Chris Ogbechie. The fireside chat was moderated by Director, Redwood Consulting, Hannah Oyebanjo.
Additionally, in a bid to encourage advertising practitioners to keep to industry advertising standards, the ARCON is set to recognize companies and brands that have distinguished themselves in the area of compliance with the Advertising Standards Panel (ASP) Award, this evening.
Yesterday was packed full of activities with various experts and stakeholders speaking on different topics. Ademola Adigun, an independent Consultant spoke on the State of the Economy while Ronan Redmond, Director and CRO of TVC gave a presentation on “The Advertising Industry – Total Size, Data. Ronan’s presentation gave way to a panel discussion where he joined the MD of TBWA, Kelechi Nwosu, and GMD of Hazon Holdings, Victor Afolabi to discuss the Advertising Industry- growing the pie.
Foremost business and marketing professional, Oare Ojeikere gave a presentation on “Stronger Brands, Stronger Nation – A Brand Report”. This was followed by a very interactive session moderated by the CEO of Aster, Tolulope Medebem, featuring some of the best minds in the industry, among other presentations.
