Harvest Of Awards For Brand Communicator, As Agada, Ntia Win Big At Lapriga, NNMA

It was a special weekend of joy for Nigeria’s front-line brands and marketing communications magazine, Brand Communicator when the aspirational media brand took the industry by storm, winning the overall media prize at NIPR’s Lapriga, and carting home the following day, three coveted awards at the Nestle Nigeria Media Awards (NNMA).

Jeremiah Agada, Assistant Editor of Brand Communicator won gold, coming tops as PR Journalist of the year 2022 at the seventh edition of Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Award (LaPRIGA) held last Friday, December 2 at D’podium International Event Center, Ikeja, Lagos, at 5 pm. It was noticed that only Brand Communicator had more than one nominee at the final stage of nomination. It is interesting to note that Brand Communicator was winning this award for the second successive time. The magazine is also a four-time winner of  La Prriga’s PR magazine of the year.

Also, the following day, Saturday, December 3, Brand Communicator won another gold as another member of the team, The Editor, Usukuma Ntia won another gold at the second edition of Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards. The Editor and The Assistant Editor won Silver in two other segments of the awards.

The Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards was created to reward professionalism and excellence and quality storytelling around six selected sustainability-focused areas comprising – Affordable Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment, Engendering Thriving Communities, and Agriculture.  There is an award for a photojournalist of the year covering these six segments.

Participation is always open to mainstream and online journalists from all over Nigeria. Entries must be published stories related to any of the six areas.

Ntia came up tops in the affordable nutrition segment. He and Agada were first runners-up in Agriculture and Youth Empowerment segments respectively.

Speaking on the success of the team, Editor–in–Chief and Publisher of Brand Communicator magazine, Joshua Ajayi said “it is exciting to see that our works in the last few are appreciated to this level we’re humbled by the impact we have made consistently in this industry. We’re also thankful to the organising bodies for the recognition. We regard these victories as testaments to the collective energy of our entire team and I am grateful to  God and the entire team for all the hard work.”

Speaking at the event, Corporate Communication & Public Affairs Manager, Nestle Nig. Plc, Mrs. Victoria Nwadoka, restated his organisation’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding all media partners that are contributing immensely to quality news gatherings.

Her words.“The media is key in reporting any project or plan of action which can affect behaviours or perceptions and provide the right fact-based information to the public.

For the right mentality and the right attitude to do justifiable work, the media needs to be well-equipped. That is why we are giving out quality tablets and phones to our winners. We will always encourage excellence as well as appreciate those that have added value to the various work output of Nestle Nigeria”.
