The Real Housewives of Lagos season 2 (RHOLagos) has broken the first-day streaming record on Showmax in Nigeria

According to the company, the programme was the most-watched Original on its first release day in Nigeria.

The second season of the reality series, which premiered exclusively on Showmax on Friday, 29 September 2023, also made waves on social media with the official hashtag #RHOLagos taking a spot on the X (formerly Twitter) trend table.

Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels, MultiChoice, Dr. Busola Tejumola said, “Since the official announcement of the second season, the reception has been very positive, and we are delighted the fans are watching and enjoying the show. We can’t wait for the fans to see the rest of the season.”

She added, “We have taken this hit franchise that is massively popular here and put our local spin on it to make it even more appealing and relatable.”

This season of RHOLagos delves deeper into the personalities and luxurious lifestyles of seven leading ladies, Chioma Ikokwu, Faith Morey, Iyabo Ojo, Laura Ikeji-Kanu, Mariam Timmer, Tania Omotayo and Toyin Lawani Adebayo, giving viewers more unforgettable moments more than ever before.

The Real Housewives of Lagos is distributed internationally by NBCUniversal Formats, a part of Universal International Studios, a division of the Universal Studio group.

Season 2 is streaming on Showmax in sub-Saharan Africa, with new episodes on Fridays.
