Marketing communications leader, Dr. Biodun Shobanjo, the Chairman of Troyka Holdings Limited, is set to support and chair the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Association of Media and Communication Researchers of Nigeria (AMCRON).
The conference, themed, ‘Communication, Mass Media and Governance in Africa: Trajectories, Expectations and Realities’ will be held at the Biodun Shobanjo Centre of Excellence in Multimedia Technology and Cinematography, Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos from December 6 to 7, 2023.
Shobanjo said that Troyka Holdings would sponsor a major aspect of the conference and it would be his “pleasure to chairman the opening ceremony.”
Commending Shobanjo’s gesture, Dr. Fassey Adetokumboh Yusuf, Ogun State’s former Commissioner For Information, Youth, Sports, Community Development, Culture and Social Welfare said, “The two gestures by Shobanjo are classic examples of his immutable social innovations cum social responsibility and responsiveness”.
Earlier, the Association’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye, said that the conference would examine the constantly evolving social media dynamics and trajectories of the relationship between the mass media and governance in Africa.
According to the President of the Association, Prof. Eserinune McCarty Mojaye, AMCRON is a registered corporate body that seeks to enhance knowledge, research and development in media and communication for socio-political and economic progress.
The association will also create a bridge between the town and the gown for integrating media and communication notions and ideas towards national and international development.
