Mastercard Appoints Folasade Femi-Lawal As Country Manager, West Africa

Mastercard, a global payments technology giant has appointed Folasade Femi-Lawal, a digital payment expert as its new Country Manager for West Africa.
In her new role, Folasade will be responsible for driving the company’s strategic vision, innovation, and growth in West Africa.
In a statement, the firm stated that its new country manager has over 25 years of experience spanning financial services, management consulting, telecommunications, and business advisory services.
In his remarks, the division president for Sub-Saharan Africa at Mastercard, Mark Elliot said “We warmly welcome Folasade to the Mastercard family. With extensive experience in the digital payments ecosystem, she brings valuable assets to our West Africa operations. Her arrival comes at a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s shift toward a cashless society through digital innovation. Folasade will collaborate closely with public and private sector partners to advance this transformation.”
The firm also noted that Folasade will help drive its strategic initiatives, strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, and advance its mission of building a more connected and inclusive digital economy in West Africa.

Folasade hold a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University as well as a Master of Business Administration in Information System Management from Texila American University Consortium.
