Olusesan Ogunyooye Assumes New Role As Head Of Marketing At AXA Mansard
Olusesan Ogunyooye, a marketing communication professional has been promoted to a new position as the Head of Marketing at AXA Mansard, a worldwide leader in insurance and asset management.
In his new position, Olusesan will be responsible for the brand, marketing, and communications leadership for the AXA master brand and sub-brands and categories across insurance, health, and investment.
While announcing the new position on his LinkedIn page, he wrote, “When I was going to make the jump two years ago. I was afraid, again I had heard many tales about sharks in the financial service sector. I was almost cowed again. But thank God I didn’t. I found AXA Mansard. I found a purpose that I could share and own-acting for human progress.”
Prior to his new promotion, he was the Head, Brand and Communication of the same company where he was responsible for leading and driving the brand and marketing department for Axa Mansard in Nigeria while building strong relationships across the business, among diverse other functions.
Olusesan is a thought enthusiast, Fulbright scholar and Marketing Communications professional with close to a decade of experience in leading Marketing and Communication strategies for Business-to-Business and Service brands. Before joining AXA Mansard, he was the Head, Marketing & Corporate Communications (AGM) for Alpha Mead Facilities & Management Services Ltd. At Alpha Mead, he spent over seven years of his career, having joined in 2014 as a Brand and Communication Manager, and rose through the ranks until his last position.
He started his career in 2010 as a copy editor at Masford and Prize Magazine. Within the first six months of his professional career, he rose from an in-house journalist to manage and direct Communications for 3Invest Limited – a Real Estate Advisory Company. In this capacity, he managed different media campaigns and partnerships worth over N10 million with local and international media, including Forbes Africa, CNN and How We Made It In Africa.
Shortly before leaving for the U.S, Olusesan had a stint with the Marketing and Corporate Services unit of Brila Fm – Africa’s first and Nigeria’s only all-sport radio station. As a Brand Strategist, his creative ingenuity still resonates with his signature “Jack of One Trade… Master of SPORTcasting” still playing on airwaves.
In the course of his career, he has led a full-blow rebranding and rollout programme; doubled revenue and media share of voice; strengthened brand power; designed, developed and expanded new digital footprint; and saw new products and services from conception to design; launch, growth and market dominance.
He has worked closely with other media experts on projects such as the UKaid DFID GEMS 2 Affordable Housing Round Table in 2012; AM Facility World Facility Management Day 2012, 2013 & 2014; African Property Investment Summit, South Africa 2013; Sub-Sahara Property Investment Summit, London 2013 among others.
Olusesan holds a degree in English Studies from the Adekunle Ajasin University and a National Diploma in Mass Communications from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, he also has a Certificate in Strategic Management and Post-graduate Diploma in Global Marketing Decisions.
