The Coca-Cola Company Elevates Omomeda Ashofor To Social Experience Director For Africa
In a move to deepen its commitment to enhancing its social media and digital presence across the continent, The Coca-Cola Company has elevated strategic marketing leader Omomeda Ashofor to the position of Social Experience Director, Africa.
Ashofor, an experienced media professional with a proven track record in the marketing and advertising industry, previously served as the Director of Consumer and Shopper Media for the global beverage giant.
Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, Ashofor’s career trajectory included stints at several leading media agencies and telecommunications firms. He started his career at mediaReach OMD, where he held roles of increasing responsibility, including Manager of Media Planning Services and Manager of Research and Technology.
He then joined Capital Media Limited Nigeria as Head of Media Strategy and Planning, before being promoted to Director of Media Strategy and Implementation. He subsequently moved to Airtel Nigeria as Senior Manager of Media Operations and later to UM Nigeria as General Manager, where he was responsible for strategic management and decision-making that impacted revenue generation, staff development, and overall company operations.
Ashofor’s impressive background and expertise in media strategy, digital marketing, and integrated communications made him the ideal candidate to take on the Social Experience Director role for The Coca-Cola Company’s Africa business. In this position, he will be tasked with elevating the brand’s social media presence, driving deeper engagement with consumers, and exploring new avenues for leveraging digital platforms to tell the Coca-Cola story across the diverse markets of the African continent.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ibadan and is an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School. His skillset spans strategic thinking, emotional intelligence development, media planning, and integrated marketing – all of which will be crucial in his new role as The Coca-Cola Company’s Social Experience Director for Africa.
