Again, Publisher Of Brand Communicator Joshua Ajayi Makes Nigeria’s Top 50 PR Power List

For the second consecutive time, Joshua Ajayi, Chief Executive of Awesome Communications, Publishers of Nigeria’s leading multi-award-winning brands, marketing and sustainability publication-Brand Communicator has made it to the top 50 PR Power List.

The Top 50 PR Power List is part of the activities to mark the 2024 World PR Day by one of Nigeria’s leading Public Relations firms, GLG Communications in collaboration with the Guardian Newspaper.

The PR Power List, published exclusively by The Guardian, recognises the incredible achievements of the top 50 Nigerian PR and communications professionals over the last twelve months.

The list features a carefully curated selection of returning honorees from the previous year, as well as exceptional new entrants. This prestigious recognition highlights the remarkable contributions of these PR professionals who often work tirelessly behind the scenes, crafting communication strategies that make magic happen for their clients.

Omawunmi Ogbe, Managing Partner of GLG Communications had during the last edition expressed the significance of acknowledging these often overlooked professionals and their vital role in shaping the business landscape and the wider community. “With The PR Power List, our goal is to shine a spotlight on the tireless efforts of these professionals and highlight their indispensable contributions.”

Commenting on the PR Power List, Andras Sztaniszlav, CEO of the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) and President of the Hungarian Public Relations Association (MPRSZ) who served as a juror for the PR Power list said, “Being part of the PR Power List jury is a humbling experience. I’m deeply impressed by the calibre of talent and the remarkable contributions of the Nigerian PR professionals shortlisted. Joshua Ajayi’s inclusion in the PR Power List comes as no surprise, given his exceptional track record and commitment to excellence. In 2021, he was honoured with the prestigious PR Journalist of the Year by LaPRIGA, a renowned award platform that recognizes excellence in public relations practice in Nigeria. Ajayi also received the Most Consistent Niche Media Personality award at the Freelanews Awards the same year, further solidifying his industry-wide recognition.

Moreover, Ajayi is widely known for his role as the convener and visioner of various influential conferences and awards ceremonies within the marketing communications industry. These include the Women in Marketing Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA), the largest gathering of female marketing communications professionals in West Africa; BRANDCOMFEST, the leading event for professionals and stakeholders in the marketing communications industry in West Africa; and BRANDCOM Awards, a prestigious platform that celebrates and recognizes excellence in the marketing communications and allied industry. Additionally, Ajayi initiated the Environmental Sustainability Conference, Expo, and Awards (ECOSEA).

Under his leadership, Brand Communicator has achieved remarkable success. The publication was honoured as the Best Company in CSR Reporting for 2020 at the Sustainability, Enterprise, and Responsibility Awards (SERAS). This accolade was the result of a rigorous and competitive process that included prominent media outlets such as Channels Television and Arise Television in the same category.

Furthermore, Brand Communicator was nominated for the Best Small and Medium Company of the Year category at the 10th edition of the SERAS in 2016, and in 2018, it secured the position of second runner-up as the Best Company in Sustainability Reporting.
