Brand Communicator Editor Hits Gold, Silver At 2024 Nestle Nigeria Media Awards
The Editor of Brand Communicator, Nigeria’s front-line brand and marketing communications publication, Usukuma Ntia, has won two awards at the 2024 Nestle Nigeria Media Awards (NNMA) held yesterday at 157 Gardens and Events, Lagos.
Ntia won gold and silver in the Best Story on Community Development, and Best Story on Environmental Sustainability categories respectively.
The Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards was created to reward professionalism, excellence, and quality storytelling around seven selected sustainability-focused areas comprising – Affordable Nutrition, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment, Engendering Thriving Communities, Agriculture, and Photojournalism.
The Award, sponsored by Nestlé Nigeria PLC, a leading nutrition, health, and wellness company, is in its fourth edition. The aim is to recognize and reward professionalism and excellence in journalism, celebrating the outstanding contributions of media professionals in Nigeria.
The Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards also provide a platform for highlighting the expertise and dedication of journalists focused on nutrition, building thriving communities, and protecting the planet, across various platforms. This year’s edition was even more remarkable, as it continues to honour those who have demonstrated outstanding skills in investigative journalism, feature writing, and other categories.

Participation is always open to mainstream and online journalists from all over Nigeria and entries must be published on stories related to any of the six areas. This year, almost 300 entries were received.-
Judges for the 2024 Awards include Dr. Chioma Emma-Nwachukwu, Programs Lead, Lagos Chapter, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, renowned for her work in nutrition and public health; Rosemary Otalor, Account Director, APO Group, a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in media relations and communications; Dr. Sunday John, Senior Lecturer, School of Media and Communications, Pan-Atlantic University, an expert in media studies and journalism; Oreva Atanya, Director, LBS Sustainability Center, Pan-Atlantic University, known for her contributions to sustainability and corporate social responsibility; and Victoria Uwadoka, award-winning leader in corporate communications and public affairs, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability Lead, at Nestlé Nigeria.
