Lagos Business School, Pan Atlantic University has announced the appointment of Professor Olayinka David-West as the 5th Dean of Lagos Business School. This appointment will consolidate the school’s status as a citadel of excellence through academic excellence, innovation, global collaborations, and social impact.
Professor Olayinka is a digital transformation exponent committed to the strategic and effective use of digital technologies in business and society with financial inclusion as an imperative.
Prior to her appointment she was the Associate Dean of the school. Prof. Olayinka joined Lagos Business School in 2003 as the Senior Fellow in Information Systems before climbing the ladder to other positions.
Speaking on her new role, she said “As I take on the role of Dean, I fully recognise that achieving this vision extends far beyond the walls of Lagos Business School. It will rely on the collective strength of our alumni, partners, and stakeholders. I therefore humbly seek your continued support—whether through mentorship, financial contributions, or collaboration on pivotal initiatives. Together, we can shape a brighter future for Africa—where excellence becomes the standard, innovation flourishes, and leadership drives transformative change.”
Professor Olayinka started her career in 1992 as Head of Research and Development at TARA Systems Limited where she was responsible for coordinating new ideas and innovations in software, hardware and networking (ICT) solutions for both Windows and UNIX Platforms using Oracle Technology.
She then moved to DPMS Limited as Senior Consultant, responsible for implementation & project management of turnkey projects and consulting to DPMS’s clients, which range from regular NT-based networks to RS/6000, AS/400 environments.
Other places she has worked include National Bank of Nigeria as Head of e-Business, Centre for Global Enterprise as Global Scholars Alpha Team.
She holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Lagos as well as MSc in Business Systems Analysis & Design from City, University of London. She also has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration from Alliance Manchester Business School.
