The fourth brand task of the ongoing BBNaija 10 reality TV show was one of the most intense yet exciting challenges of the season so far. Sponsored by Guinness, the gold sponsor of the show, the brand evoked a feeling of connection, togetherness, an exciting wave of competition and entertainment to both housemates and viewers in its ‘Guinness Liquid Love’ Task.

Now under the Tolaram umbrella, the iconic stout brand used the spotlight to build a deep, immersive brand presence for housemates, leveraging its bold and magnetic identity to align with the spirit of the competition. It has also been visible during the Friday Jacuzzi sessions and Saturday night parties.

Through the sentiment behind that phrase “Guinness Liquid Love”, the brand showcased its overall marketing strategy, which emphasises the social and emotional connections associated with drinking Guinness to the millions of viewers in the task.

The brand delivered a high-energy four-phase team challenge that tested the housemates’ control, balance, focus, physical strength and finesse, which was nothing short of spectacular.

Each team nominated a representative for every phase of the game. All the teams started the game on a 100-point score.

The housemates were scored on how well their team navigated the games; defaulters not following the instructions in each phase led to a reduction in points for the team.

The first challenge was called ‘Break The Ice’, and was played within 15 minutes. The teams were presented with ice cubes with letters written on them, in a pit-like structure. Each team representative searched for and carried cubes with 6 degrees written on them, through some obstacles, to the finishing points. They did this six times, one ice cube per trip.

The team representatives froze at the first sound of a buzzer and unfroze at the second sound. Defaulters got 5 points deducted, and picking the wrong ice cube deducted a point too. The first team that completed the six trips with 6 correct ice cubes got 30 points, while the last team lost 30 points.

For the second game, which was called ‘Mind your angles’, the teams were presented with three life-size cutouts, a puzzle board and puzzle cards. Each team had three representatives. The first representative went through the life-size cutout and picked a puzzle card, passed it to the second team member, who delivered it to the third team member, who solved the puzzle on the board. This was repeated till the puzzle was solved. The first team that completed the puzzle won 15 points, and the last team lost 15 points.

The third game of the night was called ‘Pour with joy’. For this challenge, the team had a representative who carried a bucket of coloured balls strapped to their knees from a station through a monkey bar to the finishing line. The team with the most number of balls wins gets 20 points, and the losing team loses 20 points as well.

For the final challenge of the night, called Perfect Guinness pour, each team had a representative who tilted the Guinness goblet to a 45° angle and poured the Guinness slowly until it formed a foam without a drop in the process. 15 were given to the winning team, and the losing team lost 15 points. No team won this round.

Note that all the points deducted or gained were from the 100 points given to all the teams at the beginning of the game.

At the end, team Vibrant Jason Jae, Sultana, Joanna, Imisi, Kuture, Isabella, and Kayikumi dominated the four intense game rounds — solving puzzles, climbing the monkey pole, achieving the perfect Guinness tilt pour, and transporting balls and ice flawlessly, winning the week 3 task in grand style.
