The battle against the toothache menace is still raging strong as Colgate, an oral care brand, took over the spotlight on day 46 of the ongoing season 10 of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) to promote healthy and good oral care in its ‘YangawithColgate’ brand challenge. This is the 19th brand task of the season.
The brand curated the task in multifaceted challenges designed not only to entertain but also to educate housemates and viewers on oral health. The games were designed to test the housemates’ knowledge, speed, teamwork, and coordination while promoting the importance of good oral hygiene.
Before the main game, the housemates were given 60 minutes to go through Colgate oral health educational materials to brush up on their knowledge in preparation for the task.
The housemates were split into four teams: Team Strong Teeth, Team Zero Cavity, Team Healthy Gum, and Team Fresh Breath, which indicate the four important aspects of good oral care.
The challenge kicked off with The Smile Trivia Question and Myth Burster, where each team selected a representative to the podium for a quick-fire round of oral care questions, like how many months should one use a toothbrush, and how many times should a person floss in a day. Each team representative had 1 minute to answer the questions correctly.
The pressure was on as housemates had to separate myths from facts while showing off their knowledge.
The next game was The Smile Catcher, a fast-paced game that tested the focus, speed, and coordination of the housemates. Each team selected a representative to play the game. Each representative was given a few minutes to grab as many Colgate Smile Defenders as possible, pushing their energy and agility to the limit.
The last game of the night was a Zero cavity challenge. To play this game, the teams were given a big toothbrush, three obstacles, a puzzle board, and a locked box.
Each team selected three representatives. The first team member passed through the first two obstacles and then handed over the toothbrush to the next team member, who put a puzzle piece on it and took it to the last team member, crossing the last obstacle. The last team representative then fixed the puzzle on the board.
After fixing the puzzle, the third team representative then crossed a snake and ladder path to open a box with a code found under the puzzle card. Each team had three minutes to play this game, and the fastest team won.
At the end of the games, the overall winner was determined by the total accumulated points. With an impressive 65 points, Team Strong Teeth (Thelma, Jason, and Isabella) emerged victorious, earning bragging rights and the big win for the Colgate task.
