Convener of the Brandcom Awards, Joshua Ajayi, has said that since the inception of the Top 35 Under 35 category, many of its past honourees have gone on to occupy leadership roles across the industry, both locally and internationally.

Speaking at the 2025 Brandcom Awards, held recently at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, Ajayi noted that the platform has remained committed to spotlighting young professionals who continue to shape the future of marketing and communications. According to him, “Since we introduced the Top 35 Under 35 category, many of our past honourees have risen to become leaders across different sectors, both in Nigeria and beyond.”

He explained that beyond recognition, the awards are designed to inspire growth and promote professional excellence within the industry. “Every nominee is expected to be a registered member of at least one professional body,” Ajayi said. “This helps to uphold ethical standards and encourage continuous professional development. Our aim is to ensure that those who make it to this stage are not just talented but are also accountable to the values and structures that sustain our industry.”

Ajayi described the essence of the Brandcom Awards as one that celebrates excellence while nurturing emerging talents. “Our goal has always been to reward innovation, inspire growth, and shine the spotlight on the next generation of marketing leaders,” he noted.

The event celebrated outstanding brands, agencies, and professionals driving creativity and innovation across Nigeria’s marketing and communications landscape.

Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc emerged as one of the night’s biggest winners, receiving multiple awards for its Golden Penny and Amaizing Day brands. Beiersdorf Nigeria, makers of NIVEA, and Dufil Prima Foods Plc, producers of Indomie and Power Oil, were also recognised for innovation and consumer engagement.

In the telecommunications and FMCG categories, Airtel Nigeria, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, and Unilever Nigeria stood out for their creative campaigns and impactful storytelling.

The highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of the Top 35 Under 35 Marketing and Communications Professionals for 2025, a list celebrating young innovators who are redefining the industry. Visionary CEOs including Mohammad Darwish, Stephen Onaivi, and Victoria Adewunmi were among those honoured for their leadership and contributions.

Others recognised for advancing excellence in marketing and communications include Ilyas Kazeem, Seun Adaramola, Justin Essien, Omoefe Ohworakpo, and Fiyin Toyo.

The 2025 Brandcom Awards once again reinforced its position as a credible platform that celebrates creativity, innovation, and leadership within Nigeria’s marketing and communications ecosystem.
