Recognising Excellence – Spotlight On Olawande Meyungbo, One Of Nigeria’s Top 35 Under 35 Marketing Professionals

As the curtains fell on the 2025 BrandCom Awards, one of the industry’s most credible platforms celebrating innovation, leadership, and rising talent; several young professionals were spotlighted for their contributions across diverse segments of the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) landscape. Among them was Olawande Meyungbo, whose work in digital strategy, media innovation, and brand transformation earned him a place on the prestigious Top 35 Under 35 list.
The recognition places Meyungbo among the youngest professionals shaping the future of marketing and digital communication in Nigeria, an achievement that reflects both his cross-sector experience and his commitment to continuous learning.
Olawande’s career began at Starcom Media Perspectives, where he developed competence in media planning, audience strategy, and digital optimisation. Working on multiple blue-chip accounts such as Samsung, Visa, etc.; he built a strong understanding of how media investments translate into consumer behaviour and brand growth – a foundation that continues to inform his work today.
His drive for growth led him to Fidelity Bank, where he worked on several digital engagement and adoption campaigns aligned with the bank’s modernisation efforts. He contributed to initiatives such as the Pay Yourself feature launch, Fidelity Bank Mobile Banking platform adoption drive, digital engagement campaigns, and internal innovation projects like Think & Pitch, which encouraged staff to contribute ideas for digital transformation.
Olawande’s transition into the tech ecosystem at Fast Ryders, a mobility startup, introduced him to the fast-paced world of product-led growth and performance marketing. There, he played a role in user acquisition, retention, and positioning the brand in a competitive market dominated by established players.
Today, as Media Manager at Promasidor Nigeria, he leads digital media transformation across major FMCG brands including Cowbell, Onga, and Top Tea. His work focuses on martech adoption, analytics-driven decision making, and modernising how traditional brands engage consumers.
Recognition Within and Beyond the Industry
In addition to the BrandCom honour, Olawande was named Media Manager of the Year at the Marketing Edge Awards (2024) and received the Digital Marketing Trailblazer Award at the Nigerian Brand Handlers Awards. These recognitions collectively reinforce his growing influence within Nigeria’s marketing ecosystem.
Speaking on the BrandCom recognition, he said, “This award is a reminder that learning and being in the right environment make all the difference. I’ve been fortunate to work in organisations that encouraged innovation, and I’m committed to sharing what I’ve learned with others coming after me.”
