Brand Communicator recorded another milestone as two of its journalists won awards at the 2025 Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards held recently in Lagos, marking four consecutive years of recognition for the publication.

Eunice Stephen won Gold in the Women Empowerment category, while Toyosi Olajide claimed Bronze in the Nutrition and Affordable Food Solutions category. Toyosi Olajide was also recently named Brand Journalist of the Year at the ADVAN Awards 2025.

The Nestlé Nigeria Media Awards was created to celebrate professionalism and quality storytelling in key development areas such as nutrition, sustainability, women empowerment, youth empowerment, thriving communities, agriculture, and photojournalism. Sponsored by Nestlé Nigeria PLC, the Awards continue to recognise journalists whose work informs the public and supports national growth.

Speaking on the continued impact of the Awards, Victoria Uwadoka, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainability Lead at Nestlé Nigeria, said the Media Awards have, over the past five years, strengthened the company’s commitment to promoting responsible journalism that supports real progress in society. She added that the platform remains important because it recognises stories that inform, challenge perspectives, and encourage meaningful conversations around national development.

Entries for the 2025 Awards were reviewed by a distinguished panel of judges. Dr. Chioma Emma-Nwachukwu, Programs Lead for the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter, is widely known for her leadership in public health nutrition. She was joined by Dr. Rosemary Otalor, Account Director at APO Group, an expert in media relations and strategic communications. The judging panel also included Yvonne Kanalio Olaloku, Nutrition Specialist with the Nestlé Nutrition Institute for Central and West Africa, whose work focuses on nutrition science and food fortification. The judges evaluated each entry based on relevance, accuracy, depth, creativity, and overall impact before selecting the winners.

Brand Communicator’s success at the 2025 edition underscores its sustained commitment to excellence in journalism and storytelling that makes a real difference.
