NIPR, Global Alliance lead WPRF 2026 Pre-Event Dialogue To Mark International Women’s Day

Organisers of the World Public Relations Forum 2026 have announced a special pre-event to commemorate International Women’s Day, focusing on the role of responsible communication in advancing women’s rights and social justice.
The event is hosted by Justin Green, President and CEO of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management; Ike Neliaku, President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations; Inimfon Etuk, Chair of the Civil Society Task Team of the WPRF National Planning Committee; and Suleiman Haruna, Chairman of the WPRF Abuja 2026 National Planning Committee
The virtual session, scheduled for Sunday, March 8, is part of the activities leading up to the global forum, which is expected to be held in Abuja in November 2026. Themed “Responsible Communication as a Tool for Advancing Women’s Rights and Social Justice”, the event will bring together communication leaders, policymakers, and development experts to discuss how strategic communication can support gender equality and inclusive development.
The lead perspectives include Abiodun Essiet, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North-Central); Ronald Kayanja, Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Nigeria; Liberata Mulamula, African Union Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security; Matthias Schmale, United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine; and HE Toyin Saraki, Founder/President of The Wellbeing Foundation Africa and Global Ambassador of the WHO Foundation.
According to the organisers, the event is part of the build-up to the World Public Relations Forum 2026, which will be hosted by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and is expected to attract communication professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the world.
