Airtel Nigeria Introduces Single-Seater Shops Across The Country

Airtel Nigeria has begun rolling out a new chain of compact retail outlets called “Single-Seater Shops,” designed to bring its products and customer services closer to subscribers across the country.
The telecom operator officially launched the initiative recently, with its flagship outlet opening at City Mall in Onikan, Lagos. The company described the new store format as a strategic move to improve accessibility and convenience for its growing customer base.
Unlike traditional Airtel service centres, which are often large and located in commercial hubs, the Single-Seater Shops are smaller retail outlets positioned in easily accessible neighbourhoods. The company said the compact format allows it to establish a physical presence in more communities without the need for large-scale infrastructure.
At these outlets, customers can perform a range of telecom transactions, including purchasing new SIM cards, recharging airtime, subscribing to data plans, and accessing customer support. The company said the shops are designed to handle routine services that do not require the full resources of a major service centre.
Airtel said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance customer experience through greater physical accessibility. While digital channels continue to grow in popularity, the company noted that many subscribers still prefer in-person assistance for services like SIM registration, account resolution, and device support.
“The launch of the Single-Seater Shops goes beyond opening another retail outlet,” a company representative said. “It reflects our commitment to meeting customers where they are and ensuring they can access the support they need without unnecessary travel or delays.”
Following the Lagos launch, Airtel plans to extend the Single-Seater Shop model to other states across Nigeria. The company aims to reach both densely populated urban centres and underserved rural areas where access to formal telecom retail points had previously been limited.
The nationwide rollout is expected to strengthen Airtel’s distribution network and create additional touchpoints for customer engagement. The company sees the initiative as complementing its digital service channels while ensuring that Nigerians who rely on physical retail locations can still access essential mobile services.
With the expansion now underway, Airtel is positioning the Single-Seater Shops as a key part of its strategy to deepen its presence in communities and support wider access to connectivity across the country.
