The flagship Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has congratulated Tunji Disu on his appointment as Acting Inspector General of Police by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a press release by the chapter’s public relations officer, Dr. Oguchukwu Okeke, the institute described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Disu’s distinguished service, exemplary leadership, and commitment to professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force.
The chapter’s chairman, Samuel Ayetutu, PhD, fnipr, frpa, highlighted Disu’s impactful tenure as Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) from 2015 to 2021, noting that “his leadership style reflected transparency, discipline, and responsiveness: qualities that are indispensable in contemporary security administration.” He added that Disu strengthened operational efficiency while maintaining constructive engagement with the media and the public.
Worthy of note, Disu is also a member of the Lagos Chapter of NIPR.
The Lagos Chapter expressed confidence that AIG Disu would continue to uphold accountability, ethical leadership, and effective public communication in his new role. Dr. Ayetutu said, “We believe his appointment will further strengthen public trust and enhance institutional credibility at the highest level of policing in Nigeria.”
The institute wished him wisdom, courage, and outstanding success as he assumes this critical national responsibility.
