NIMN Elects Yakasai, Amachree, Bolaji, Others Into Key Offices At 2026 Council Elections

Dr. Yakasai Ibrahim Yusuf, fnimn, Dr. Chidi Nwankpa Sylvanus, fnimn, Ms. Amachree Sundayba Sandra, fnimn, Mr. Junaid Bolaji and other members have been elected into key leadership positions of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) following the successful conclusion of the Institute’s 2026 Council Elections held during its Annual General Meeting in Port Harcourt.

The elections, conducted as part of the 2026 Annual Marketing Conference (AMC) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) under the theme, “Community, Culture and Connection: Reimagining the New Market,” produced a new set of officers and Council members expected to help shape the strategic direction, governance and future growth of the Institute.

In the keenly contested election for the position of First Vice President, Dr. Yakasai Ibrahim Yusuf, fnimn, secured a decisive victory, polling 332 votes, representing 78.49 per cent of the votes cast.

For the office of Second Vice President, Dr. Chidi Nwankpa Sylvanus, fnimn, emerged victorious with 229 votes, accounting for 54.14 per cent of the total votes cast. He defeated Dr. Nwosu Evelyn Irekpitan, fnimn, who garnered 176 votes.

Members also elected seven representatives to serve on the governing Council of the Institute, reinforcing NIMN’s commitment to inclusive leadership and effective institutional governance.

Ms. Amachree Sundayba Sandra, fnimn, emerged as the highest-polling Council representative with 253 votes, representing 59.81 per cent of votes cast. She was followed by Dr. Joda Kehinde Adegbemiga, fnimn, who secured 224 votes.

Other successful candidates elected to the Council include Chief Gbagi Hope Moninu, fnimn, who polled 206 votes; Mr. Akomolafe Ayoola Obafemi, fnimn, with 203 votes; Mr. Junaid Bolaji, who secured 183 votes; Dr. Igwe Chinyere Emmanuel, fnimn, with 156 votes; and Chief Niyi-Ladipo Abisola, fnimn, who garnered 147 votes.

The emergence of the newly elected officers and Council members marks a significant milestone in the Institute’s efforts to strengthen its leadership structure and enhance its capacity to drive professional excellence within Nigeria’s marketing industry.

The new leadership team is expected to work closely with the President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi, and other stakeholders to deepen member engagement, advance ongoing reforms, strengthen professional standards and position NIMN for greater impact within Nigeria’s evolving marketing ecosystem.

The elections concluded on a high note, reflecting members’ commitment to democratic governance and their shared vision of building a stronger, more influential and globally competitive marketing profession in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) is the statutory regulatory body for the marketing profession in Nigeria. The Institute is responsible for regulating, controlling and determining the standards of knowledge, skills and practice required of marketing professionals while promoting ethical conduct, professional excellence and industry development.
