Lush Hair’s Pink My Salon: From a Brand Idea to a Business Transformation

The Pink My Salon Initiative was conceived from a simple but important understanding: for many hairstylists, the salon is more than a place of work. It is their business, their livelihood and their platform for building a future. Yet many operate in spaces with inadequate facilities, limited tools and little opportunity for professional development.

For Lush Hair, this presented an opportunity to go beyond its role as a hair extension brand and support the professionals who are central to the beauty industry. As Vivian Obiano explained, “We saw a need here and we wanted to be that brand that bridges that gap.”

That thinking became the foundation of Pink My Salon. The initiative was designed not simply to renovate salons, but to improve the conditions in which stylists work while giving them the tools and knowledge to grow. In Vivian’s words, it was “not just to give the shop a face lift, but to also give the stylist themselves and the salon owner a mind lift.”

Bringing that vision to life required careful planning and collaboration across Lush Hair’s different teams and departments. Brand Manager, Ese Ikhifa Alagbogu, explained, “It took a lot of planning and communications with the different teams and departments” to bring the Pink My Salon vision to life.

Turning that vision into reality required considerable planning and coordination. National BTL Manager, Toluwalase George, captured the scale of the task, saying, “For me it moved from an idea and something real when the brief came to my table and I saw its magnitude. I knew it was going to take a lot of process, a lot of determination and a lot of compassion in execution.”

The result is visible in the experiences of the salon owners themselves. At Blessed Beauty Touch in Abuja, the transformation changed not only the appearance of the salon but its capacity to serve customers. The owner recalled that before the intervention, “three people could not even sit down inside at the same time.” Today, “up to 15 people can stay inside.”

At Ogo Oluwa Aesthetic Salon in Ibadan, the transformation has also addressed practical needs. “We now have the right tools and we also have regular power supply,” the owner said, adding, “my salon has now been upgraded.”

These experiences capture what makes Pink My Salon significant for both the beneficiaries and Lush Hair. For the salon owners, the intervention provides a more functional and professional environment in which to serve customers and grow their businesses. For Lush Hair, it creates a deeper connection with the stylists who influence beauty choices, trends and product recommendations every day.

Pink My Salon therefore represents a strategic extension of Lush Hair’s relationship with the professional beauty community. By investing in the spaces, skills and confidence of salon owners, the brand is helping strengthen the ecosystem in which its products and the wider beauty industry thrive.
