Enitan Denloye Quits Airtel, Joins Liquid Telecom As Group CMO

Enitan Denloye has left the services of telecoms service providers, Airtel to join Liquid Telecom, an IP provider, as the company’s new Group Chief Marketing Officer. At Airtel, Enitan was the Vice President, Brands & Advertising before his exit.
Liquid Telecom is the leading independent data, voice and IP provider in eastern, central and southern Africa. It supplies fibre optic, satellite and international carrier services to Africa’s largest mobile network operators, ISPs and businesses of all sizes.
Enitan is an astute strategic marketing professional, his specialization cuts across Sales & Marketing, Growth Strategy in industries such as Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail and Telecommunications.
Enitan moved from Etisalat, also a telecoms service providers, to Airtel after spending about 5 years there. At Airtel, he spearheaded campaigns that have put the brand on the lips of Nigerians all over the country. He joined Airtel in 2015 after his exit at Etisalat. At Etisalt he started as Director, Brands & Communications before becoming Director, Brands & Customer Experience.
Earlier in his marketing and brand building career, Enitan while working for Procter & Gamble, Nigeria was selected by the Vice President himself to manage company’s flagship brand and also got nominated for the impressive P&G brand management and advertising training programmes in Switzerland, France and Netherlands.
He was also in Coca-Cola Nigeria (June 2002 – August 2004) as Region Advertising Manager. At Coca-Cola he spearheaded the day-to-day management of all Coca-Cola advertising agencies, McCann, Ogilvy, Lowe and J.Walter Thompson, to develop communication strategy and materials for Coca-Cola brands.
He also worked for McKinsey & CO as Strategy Consultant and became Head of Sales Field Force at British American Tobacco before stepping into the telecoms industry.
In an interview conducted for him by an online news platform, Enitan said “Growing up, brands like Coca-Cola were very close to my heart. So, even though I studied Economics, the first company I worked for was Procter and Gamble; I did a short stint in the business development unit before I moved over to join the Brands team.
“I was the assistant brand manager for Ariel for Nigeria and later, managed both Nigeria and Ghana. During my time in P&G, Ariel made tremendous progress; we grew to become the leading detergent brand in Nigeria,” he stated.
He is a graduate of Economics from University of Ibadan and MBA, Management & Strategy, marketing, Finance and Analytical Consulting at Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management.
Explaining his strive to improve himself, Enitan said “Being at Coke was fantastic but I needed to push myself further so I decided to go for an MBA.
I got admitted into Kellogg School of Management, where I met and worked on a lot of projects with various students of diverse backgrounds.
While I was at Kellogg, I did an internship at McKinsey because it is a renowned consulting firm and joining them was going to improve my strategic thinking.” After his internship, Enitan joined McKinsey full-time and this took him to Asia, the US and Africa.
