Chain Reactions, LSF PR, Modion, Others Fly Nigeria’s Flag High At 2021 Africa SABRE Awards

Chains Reactions, LSF PR, Modion Communications, Phyllion IMC and Integrated Indigo were among PR agencies within the Nigerian market that flew the nation’s flag high at the 2021 Africa SABRE Awards held recently.
According to results released by the organisers of the annual continental PR event which recognizes superior achievement in branding, reputation, and engagement across the continent, Jaiye Opayemi-led Chains Reactions beat all-comers to win in the Special Event/Sponsorship category for the ‘Applaud our Heroes’ campaign it executed for the Lagos State Government. Asides the win, the agency also received a Certificate of Excellence in the Public Sector/Government category for its milestone communication to commemorate the 10-millionth passenger for the Lagos Bus Services and another Certificate of Excellence in the Financial Communications category for its efforts on the FBN Holdings Divestment for FBN Holdings.
Perhaps, one of the biggest winners from Nigeria at the awards is LSF PR marshalled by the young and indefatigable Bidemi Zakariyau-Akande. The agency emerged winner in the SABRE Award for Superior Achievement in Brand-Building for its work on ‘Supporting Nigeria’s Development Goals’ for one of its clients, Siemens. With the same client, LSF PR also emerged winner in the Mining and Extractive Industries category, communicating ‘How Siemens is spearheading Nigeria’s power revolution.’ Additionally, LSF PR also received a Certificate of Excellence in the Special Event/Sponsorship category for the Mega Growth x Me Time Summit for its hair care client, Mega Growth.
Modion Communications’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) focused campaign for Lumos Nigeria tagged ‘Touching Lives Through A Determined School Child – Dele Fathia’ also won big at the awards. The entry came tops in the Sabre Awards Corporate Social Responsibility category, which featured competitive entries from Kenya’s Oxygène Marketing Communication; Nigeria’s Integrated Indigo; Mauritious’ Circus! Advertising and international agency, Burson Cohn & Wolfe for Centenary Bank of Uganda.
The winning entry has been shortlisted for the grand Platinum Sabre Award to be announced during the award ceremony on May 27, 2021. Other nominees in that category include Kazi Mtaani — State Department for Housing and Urban Development with Oxygène Marketing Communications; Project Fabric Campaign against the ban of second-hand clothes — Mitumba Association of Kenya with Hill+Knowlton Strategies Kenya; Rebuilding Stakeholders’ Trust in Kenya Airways — Kenya Airways with Edelman Africa and Shoprite Group Corporate Image — The Shoprite Group Communications Team.
The agency’s two other entries received ‘Certificates of Excellence’ in their respective categories. The campaign, ‘How Rugged Is Your Jeep?’, an internal communications campaign for Old Mutual Nigeria, was recognised under the Employee Communications category. The ’50 Shades of Happiness’ campaign for Leadway Assurance got a certificate of excellence under the Financial & Professional Services category.
For its work on ‘Diversity & Inclusion – Dive in Nigeria 2020’ for AON Lloyd’s, which it did in collaboration with Gong Communications, Phyllion IMC emerged winner of the SABRE Award for Superior Achievement in Research and Planning category. For the same client and the same work, both agencies also emerged winners in the Public Education category of the awards. Both agencies also got a Certificates of Excellence in the Financial & Professional Services category for same work. Phyllion IMC grabbed extra honours with the clinching of a Certificate of Excellence in the Special Event/Sponsorship category for its efforts on the Tech PR Conference 2020.
Bolaji Abimbola-marshalled Integrated Indigo also put up a strong showing at the awards also, getting two Certificates of Excellence. One is in the Cause-Related Marketing category for its campaign for its ‘ISN Medical Laboratory Scientist of The Year’ project for ISN Medical while the other is for its ‘Maltina Teacher of the Year campaign for Nigerian Breweries Plc.
Media Panache got a Certificate of Excellence in the Integrated Marketing category for its ‘Unity In Adversity’ campaign for Jobberman Nigeria while Image Merchants Promotion registered its presence at the awards with a Certificate of Excellence in the Public Affairs/Government Relations category for the effective communication of the Doka-Kajuru Peace Deal Against Ethno-Religious Crisis by the Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security.
