In order to meet customers’ demand and deliver freshly baked meals on time, the largest Pizza chain and fastest food delivery company, Domino’s Pizza, has announced a reduction in delivery time from 25-minute to 20-minute.

The company announced this during a press conference at its Awolowo, Ikoyi, Lagos, outlet on Wednesday.

Before the announcement, the company had been known to deliver pizzas within 25-minute.

Mr. Patrick McMichael, Eat N’ Go Group Managing Director and CEO while speaking during the event said that the launch of the new 20-minute delivery guaranteed project is part of the company’s vision of bringing hot and fresh meals to its customers nationwide.

He stated that customers will be compensated with a free pizza on their next order if the 20-minute delivery is delayed.

“This is an exciting time for our company, in fact, this is the most exciting thing I have done in my entire 33 years career with Domino’s pizza. We are redefining delivery processes and delivery times. We are the only company doing this in the world, amidst all the challenges we face, and I cannot but be prouder of the entire Domino’s pizza Nigeria team in this great achievement.

“We are all about our customers, and ensuring they get their meals faster and in quality means a lot to us. Before this, we promised our pizza in 25 minutes and during this period we became the fastest pizza delivery market in Domino’s global ecosystem, delivering within 16 minutes. This gave us the confidence to now promise our customers that they will get their pizzas within 20 minutes guaranteed, and better still they will get a free pizza if we fail to deliver on this promise.”

McMichael added that the food services chain is all about driving innovation that would yield customer satisfaction.

“We are all about driving innovation, being the best in the industry, and driving customer satisfaction. We are the number 1 pizza company in Nigeria, and our vision is to always be relentless and get better every day at what we do. We are always pushing the limit, always driving improvement in our systems to increase our quality of service to our numerous customers.”

Also speaking at the event, Othman Sankari, Group Brand Director, Domino’s Pizza, said since the company launched in Nigeria in 2012, it has prepared and delivered 20 percent of its high-quality pizza in under 20-minute.

“Going fully into the delivery of our freshly baked pizzas in 20-minute is an exciting development for us. This will help to improve customers’ experience as they get their orders in no time.”

The Group Marketing Director, Eat N’ Go, Ilyas Kazeem, said the company has invested in technologies and processes that will continue to drive ease of service, faster delivery times, and consistent product quality.

“It’s all about the customers at the end of the day, and we strive relentlessly to ensure we continue to drive excellent services to each of our customers. Our customers have expressed their satisfaction with the extra time they are saving in getting their pizzas faster than before. This is what we are talking about, being the leader and driving happiness with every order of our freshly baked hot pizzas.

“As we grow, and expand into more locations within the country, we will continue to improve our processes and offer superior services in the industry. Adding excellent service to drive excellent customer satisfaction is the end goal for us.” Kazeem said.

When asked how the company intends to achieve the 20-minute delivery guarantee, McMichael said, “Notwithstanding the operating challenges and unforeseen circumstances, we will ensure that the orders are delivered in 20 minutes. We have increased our motorcycles and riders to ensure a smoother and faster delivery process. The race is inside the store and not on the road, our delivery riders will ride at a normal speed while we focus on making the pizza faster in the store.

“The entire sector is growing and we have continued to invest in our people by training them on effective services.”

He reiterated that despite the economy and challenges witnessed across the globe including in Nigeria, the prices of Domino’s pizza remain unchanged while also maintaining high quality.
