Pitch Competition: How UNILORIN, LASU Won At ARCON’s Advertising Industry Colloquium

Group CEO, Noah’s Ark Communications Limited and Jury Head of campus Pitch competition, Lanre Adisa, has explained that the outstanding presentation skills of the winning universities contributed massively to their success at the creative pitch competition held at the maiden edition of the 2023 Advertising Industry Colloquium.
In Adisa’s words at the end of the competition, “I will point out a few things about the presentation which include not taking too much time on a slide, studying the body language of the audience, representing what you are saying with data, if possible try to carry your audience along with enough illustrations like images, videos, audios, etc.
“Those who followed these guidelines were the winners. However, let us note that the competition is not about who comes first, second, or third. It is about who participated and I am glad we’ve all learned from the presentation because we all still have a lot to do as citizens and the same thing goes to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).”
The Pitch contest was held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos as part of activities in the Advertising Industry Colloquium to enable students and young graduates to understand the routine and concepts of the industry.
The competition required students to come up with a feasible campaign plan that can run on various media channels for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) which emphasizes the dangers of speeding and to come up with a solution on how they can educate the target audience.
In the end, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) awarded the winners for their outstanding presentation at the creative pitch competition as Babcock University took the second runners-up position and went home with N500,000.
