Emeka Obia Takes Up New Role At Publicis Groupe As Integrated Strategy Director, CWAR

Experienced Brand and Marketing Strategist, Emeka Obia has taken up a new role at Publicis Groupe, a French multinational advertising and public relations company as the Integrated Strategy Director, Central and West Africa Region.

His approach to innovation and strategy is to help brands move beyond short-term solutions to position themselves for growth and sustainable market leadership. 

Until his appointment, Emeka was Head, Strategy and planning at Insight Redifini where he was responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and oversight of all strategy deliverables for Publicis/Redefini Nigeria group – Insight Publicis, Leo Burnett Lagos & Digitas including brand positioning, creative campaign strategy, research, social strategy, go-to-market plans, and agency thought-leadership.

He also served as the Global Trend Analyst at TrendWatching where he was responsible for delivering submissions and insights on trends, business innovation, local insights, and brands.

Emeka started his career at Headstart Consulting as an associate and strategy consultant, he then moved to Enplug as the Senior Marketing Strategist where he was charged with building affinity, driving customer acquisition, and ensuring customer retention. He was also responsible for inbound and outbound marketing efforts, including lead generation, PR, advertising, partnerships, and digital media initiatives.

He also worked at TBWA/Concept as the Strategic Planning Manager with the responsibility of developing effective and integrated brand and marketing communication strategies for key clients. Also at Leo Burnett, he was the Lead, Strategy, and planning of the organisation.

Emeka has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and also an Executive MBA in Leadership and Management from Accra Business School.

He has a Professional Certificate in Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
