WIMBIZ Ushers in New Era with Appointment of Omowunmi Akingbohungbe As Executive Director

The Board of Trustees of the Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) has announced a change in guard in its leadership with the appointment of Omowunmi Akingbohungbe as the new Executive Director, succeeding the outgoing Hansatu Adegbite.

In a press statement signed by Bisi Adeyemi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, WIMBIZ expressed profound gratitude to Hansatu Adegbite, who has led WIMBIZ with outstanding dedication and vision for over seven years.

“Hansatu’s tireless efforts have propelled WIMBIZ forward, leaving an indelible mark on our organization and moving us towards the achievement of our mission and many accomplishments,” Adeyemi stated. “We commend and thank her for a job well done, even as we wish her continued success in her future endeavours.

“As WIMBIZ bids farewell to Hansatu Adegbite, the organization warmly welcomes Omowunmi Akingbohungbe, an accomplished professional with an impressive 18-year track record in the finance and not-for-profit sectors. Akingbohungbe’s extensive experience in strategic partnerships, business development, sustainability management, and corporate social responsibility has earned her numerous accolades as an award-winning professional.”

The statement added, “A Life Member of WIMBIZ and a Patron of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Omowunmi Akingbohungbe embodies a profound commitment to service and leadership. Her impact extends beyond professional realms, as she is the Founder of the Call to Love Initiative, an NGO focused on education and development for children in low-income communities. Her transformative initiatives have positively impacted countless lives, garnering her recognition and respect both locally and internationally.

WIMBIZ also expressed excitement about Akingbohungbe’s appointment, stating, “We are honoured to welcome Omowunmi Akingbohungbe to WIMBIZ, and we are excited to leverage her expertise, passion, and leadership to further our mission of empowering women in leadership.”

Akingbohungbe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Olabisi Onabanjo University and a Master’s Degree in Global Human Resource Management from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. Her impressive educational background includes prestigious programs at Harvard Business School, Lagos Business School, and the Master Class Academy, Global Banking Alliance for Women in the Netherlands. Additionally, she is a certified Customer Service Trainer by the Service Quality Institute, USA, and she is a published author.
