Motola Oyebanjo Finally Joins Heifer International As Regional Communications Director For Africa
Communications Amazon, Omotola Oyebanjo has joined Heifer International as Regional Communications Director for Africa.
Omotola, an award-winning Communications, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability professional, was until her new appointment, the Strategic Communications Consultant for the company for about a year, where she developed and delivered communications strategy in the African region.
In her new role, Oyebanjo is responsible for supporting the leadership team in charting the strategic direction for Heifer’s positioning in Africa, partnering with a cross-functional team full of passionate, brilliant and determined people.
Taking to her LinkedIn page to announce the role, she in part said, ” Becoming a continent that can feed itself sustainably, and increasing the economic opportunities available across our food systems, especially for young people, are goals we should all rally behind.
“Heifer’s global mission to end hunger and poverty while caring for the earth is an ambitious one, and we’re going to give it our best shot every day.”
Omotola has worked with top-tier organisations across different industries to craft and deliver their corporate and brand messages, while also managing key stakeholders to achieve business and social objectives.
She served as a Communications Consultant at the United Nations Global Compact, British Council, Heifer International, and AbinBev/International Breweries Foundation for Development.
Omotola also worked with the World Bank GEMS project, Australian Trade in International Trade.
She also worked with the Lagos State Ministry of Internal Affairs, for commission, Government/Politics.
She has served as Head of Strategic Communications and Media at Union Bank, Lakeworth Investments, for Asiwaju in finance for Nigeria in Diaspora.
In the manufacturing sector, she has worked with Unilever, Lafarge Africa, Nissan Motors, Kia Motors, and Ethnic Attitude.
She has also worked with Upfield Foods, and Haansbro Foods in the food sector. In the education sector. Omotola has worked with United Kingdom Education Advisory Services, Edinburgh Napier University Scotland, BPP University UK, ESCC, SI-UK, and Sheffield Hallam University UK.
Omotola is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations ( NIPR) and the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (ARPA).
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Media Leadership from the University of Cumbria and a Certificate in Sustainable Business Practices from Harvard Business School Online.
