Airtel Nigeria’s SmartCash PSB Set To Boost Digital Payment With Cowry Card
SmartCash Payment Service Bank (PSB), a subsidiary of Airtel Nigeria is partnering with Touch and Pay to boost digital payment of customers in Nigeria with Cowry cards with new top-up features.
SmarCash Payment Service Bank revealed this in a statement recently. The company said the new features are aimed at meeting the social needs of the masses, enhancing the ease of transportation while promoting the Central Bank of Nigeria’s cashless initiative.
According to Airtel, this collaboration will enable SmartCash customers to top up their Cowry cards using the SmartCash mobile app, promoting convenient and cashless transportation payments.
Commenting on the partnership, Chief Executive Officer of SmartCash PSB, Ayotunde Kuponiyi, restated the company’s commitment to continuing innovation as a pathway towards advancing digital payment solutions.
He said, “At SmartCash PSB, we firmly believe in enhancing convenience and accessibility for everyone, regardless of where they live. By integrating Cowry card top-ups in our mobile app and USSD channel.
“We aim to advance commuter convenience, aligning with our mission to empower customers with seamless and efficient payment services. This initiative also supports Nigeria’s cashless vision.”
He added that the new collaboration with Cowry Card on the SmartCash app was another expression of efficient and convenient payment systems in line with the national goal of a more digitised economy.
SmartCash said that the seamless top-up process is available to all SmartCash customers and can be accessed via the SmartCash mobile app or the USSD code *939#.
