Aquafina Deepens BBNaija Housemates’ Bond In Padi Proposal Brand Task
Aquafina, a premium drinking water from the stable of Seven-Up Bottling company brought to the Big Brother ‘no loose guard’ season its first-ever Padi proposal brand task. The brand treated millions of viewers across the world to real ‘padi love’ and the connection and bond that the Aquafina brand embodies as housemate pairs celebrated their ‘padiship’.
‘Padioflife’ was a tagline in one of the brand’s campaign, done a few years ago with some Nigerian celebrities including Kate Henshaw, Aproko Doctor. It showcased Aquafina water as an essential ingredient in life, ‘every moment is better with the brand as the ‘padioflife’.
For the brand, yesterday’s task was an opportunity to position itself to viewers as the best go-to bottled water globally as it reminded them of its nine unique qualities which include purity, clarity, trustworthiness, international, and premium amongst others.
As it has done in previous seasons, the Aquafina brand task is known to evoke emotions, celebration and appreciation of true friendships, this year’s task was no different. The focus which has not deviated from strengthening bonds and sharing meaningful connections tested housemates’ knowledge of their partners, their creativity, storytelling and intellectual capacity while serving as a masterclass in product integration and brand visibility.
The task which was divided into two parts, had in the first one, pairs tested on their knowledge of their partners, and why they chose to come to the Big Brother mansion with them, among others. The task involved answering five questions about their pairs, and each question carried 10 points.
In the second task called the ‘Padi of Life proposal’, housemates were given a book containing the nine attributes of Aquafina premium water to choose three qualities that aligned with their ‘padi’. They were also asked to prepare a special speech for them. At the end of the speech, each housemate knelt to propose to his/her pair with a bracelet.
Big Brother judged the ‘no loose guard’ housemates based on their storytelling, story connection to selected attributes, the authenticity of the story, emotional connection and the strength of the Padi proposal in the second brand task.
At the end of the first task, the Aces pair – Topher and Sooj and the Wandi X Handi pair emerged winners having garnered the highest points. For the second round, the Chekas – Chizoba and Onyeka emerged as winners in the second task.
