Olusola Oworu Joins Lafarge Africa’s Board Of Directors

Lafarge Africa Plc has announced that Olusola Oworu, a finance expert has joined the Board of Directors of its company.

Oworu is a seasoned finance expert with over 30 years’ experience across various sectors including consulting, banking and finance, commerce, energy, and the public sector. Known as a visionary and strategic leader, she is deeply committed to driving success and delivering exceptional value at the executive level.

She is the current Board Chairman of the Credit Committee at Sterling Bank Plc. She was a Special Adviser on Commerce & Industry to the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN.

Oworu was also served as Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, with the primary responsibility of developing several greenfield projects, initiating schemes to improve the investment climate, and leading the drive to attract new investments to Lagos State.

She has worked with Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), NAL Merchant Bank (now Sterling Bank Ltd.) and Citibank Nigeria where she rose to the position of Vice President.

Oworu is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), former Council Member of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry and also a former Council Member of the Bank Directors Association of Nigeria.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting and other prestigious memberships including Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Council Member of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and the Bank Directors Association of Nigeria. She currently serves as a Business Adviser and Director on Boards.

She is passionate about transformative leadership aimed at driving sustainable business growth and fostering strategic collaborations.
