BBN Housemates Express Personalities In Mirinda’s ‘No Flavour Like Your Flavour’ Task
“Housemates, if you could express your personality through colours, what colour or shade of colour will you choose?” This thought-provoking question from Mirinda Orange set the tone for what will become an exhilarating and colourful task in the Big Brother Mansion yesterday.
The orange-flavoured soft drink brand, a product of Seven-Up Bottling Company, brought a burst of excitement to the BBNaija No-Loose-Guard house with its ‘No Other Flavour Like Your Flavour’ challenge. This task was designed to push housemates to their creative limits while encouraging them to display their unique personalities.
In preparation for the main event, housemates were strategically paired into teams, each named after Mirinda’s distinctive brand qualities: Orange, Flavour, Vibrant, Unique, Create, Emoji, Excite, and Glee. The task commenced with a creative warm-up exercise. Each housemate was presented with a pair of plain sneakers and tasked with personalizing them, adding their unique touch and style, to set the tone for the day, emphasizing individual expression and creativity.
Following this, the housemates dove into a series of five intense and entertaining games. The first challenge, Charades, tested the teams’ non-verbal communication skills and quick thinking. Pairs took turns acting out words or phrases picked randomly from a box, while their partners raced against a two-minute timer to guess correctly.
Next came the Balloon Bubble Rush, a game that requires teamwork and agility. One team member was responsible for entering a balloon-filled area and selecting ten orange balloons, which they then had to transfer to a designated storage zone. Their partner’s role was to efficiently bag the collected balloons. The second phase of this game saw teams arranging their balloons along a line marked by orange tape. Using a die to determine the number of balloons to pop, teams competed to accumulate points, with each popped balloon worth five points. The high-stakes nature of this game led to the elimination of Team Excite and Team Create.
The third activity, dubbed Mirinda Pop, introduced an element of chance to the competition. Teams chose their opponents through a color-matching exercise, adding an unpredictable twist to the matchups. The game itself required precision and strategy, as pairs attempted to bounce a ball into their opponent’s cup while progressing along a path of square cards on the floor. The first team to reach the end of the path emerged victorious, while their opponents faced elimination. This round saw three more teams bow out of the competition.
As the task progressed, Team Vibrant, Team Orange, and Team Flavour advanced to the next stage: the Perfect Pour challenge. This game tested the housemates’ steady hands and concentration as they attempted to pour Mirinda into cups without spilling a drop. The high-pressure situation proved too much for Team Orange, who were eliminated at this stage.
The grand finale pitted the two remaining teams against each other in a game called Balloon Pong. This test of multitasking and coordination required teams to keep a balloon airborne while simultaneously collecting balls and placing them in a basket. The challenge ended when the balloon touched the ground, at which point the teams tallied their collected balls. The team with the higher count would be crowned the winner.
After a day filled with laughter, tension, and fierce competition, Team Flavour, comprising Kellyrae and Anita, emerged as the undisputed champions, earning them the title of Mirinda Champions for the 2024 BBNaija Season 9 show.
