Sharing Of Ideas, Collaborations Will Take IMC Industry In Africa To Higher Levels, Says Babaeko

Steve Babaeko, CEO/Chief Creative Officer of X3M Ideas, has said that collaborations and sharing of ideas among key players in the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) industry will take the industry in Africa to a higher level.
Steve, aware of the need for Africa’s marketing communications community to expand its frontiers, said this on the sideline as an international speaker at the just concluded Nedbank IMC Conference held recently at Focus Rooms, Modderfontein Johannesburg.
He said, “The outstanding message I can see just from the gathering of key industry leaders here today is that as Africans no matter the colour of your skin, or wherever you come from or your belief we can all come together under an aegis of brands like Nedbank to have honest conversations, encourage new partnerships, share and grow together and share ideas on how to move the IMC industry continent forward”.
He further explained the importance of working together as one in the IMC industry on the continent. His words, “ We need to work together and find ways to become better people and present the message about ourselves better”.
At the conference, Steve Babaeko who spoke on the topic: “How To Look Challenges in the Eyes and Stare Them Down To Win”, said he believes that challenges come with opportunities and innovation.
He said that one of the ways to overcome challenges is to know that they will come and another is to prepare to win by having a good dose of courage, self-belief with lots of self-affirmation and the mentality of a winner, always saying “ I was born to win”.
“For every huddle and every bump in the road you meet, you have to stand tall and believe that you are going to win, I believe you will do”, he added.
Advising those who may need to make a paradigm shift in their belief system said, “Life is all about challenges and that’s why you must have a lot of self-belief, and engage in self-affirmation with a continuous reminder that you are a winner, even to the extent of looking at yourself in the mirror when you wake up reaffirm, speak all of those words of affirmation to yourself.”
Steve, who said affirmation is key to advertising messaging, explained that hope was significant for winning in life. He said that humans can afford to lose anything but hope. He encouraged everyone to always grab at the straw of hope whenever they wake up each day.
The annual Nedbank IMC Conference is Africa’s foremost integrated marketing conference. The Integrated Marketing Council (IMC) believes that Marketing is Business and that marketing deserves its place at the boardroom table. This conference has more CMOs, senior marketers and agency leaders attending than any other in Africa and is relevant to anyone in the business of communication.
