Street Foodz Naija Season 5 Set To Hit The Screen, October 26 With Enioluwa, Chef T, Whitemoney, Other Top Celebrities
Foodbay TV’s popular innovative initiative, Street Foodz Naija reality show, is set to hit the screen on October 26 2024 with a well-selected team of celebrities serving as hosts, Judges including, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, a beloved food icon, Chef T (Diary of a Kitchen Lover) and, Renowned food critic, Opeyemi Famakin.
Other stars involved include Chef Dee, Whitemoney, Akah Nnani and Queen Bethia as Guest Judges. Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende as well as the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Kunle Remi,
The programme aims to uplift, empower, and educate street food vendors across Nigeria. More than just a showcase of culinary talent, the show also equips vendors with the skills to grow their businesses, maintain hygiene standards, and elevate the perception of street food culture in society.
The season 5 studio shoot took place in Lagos, with contestants facing both team and individual challenges, creating dishes inspired by themes like “Street Credibility,” “Culture Blends,” and “Wazobia.” amongst many others. They all displayed invaluable insights about the street food industry, from food preparation to effective business strategies. Their culinary creations were evaluated by a diverse panel of judges and guest judges.
The cooking reality show will be shown on YouTube, HipTV: 9:00 – 10:00 PM (Saturday /Sunday), TVC: 8:00 – 9:00 PM (Saturday /Sunday), Views Channel: 8:00 – 9:00 PM (Saturday /Sunday) and Pop Central: 8:00 – 9:00 PM (Saturday /Sunday).
This year, the stakes were raised higher than ever, with a grand prize of ₦10,000,000, a culinary scholarship, and a range of transformative rewards.
Recall that the season kicked off with a press event at the Lagos State Secretariat, afterwards the call for entries commenced and over a thousand one-minute video submissions were received, showcasing why they should be crowned the King of Street Foodz. These entries were streamlined and the selected entries proceeded to the street food fest.
The Street Foodz Fest took place in 3 major cities (Port-Harcourt, Abuja, and Ibadan) with 18 contestants making their way into the Street Foodz Naija Reality Show.
Their journey commenced with a two-day boot camp led by industry professionals, covering essential aspects of running a successful food business.
Contestants pitched their business concepts to potential investors, resulting in four eliminations, leaving 14 competitors still in the race.
