Juliet Anammah Blazes Trail With Appointment As First Female Board Chair Of Nigerian Breweries Plc

Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the appointment of Mrs. Juliet Anammah as its substantive Board Chair, effective January 1, 2025. This landmark decision marks a milestone in the company’s history, as Mrs. Anammah becomes the first female Board Chair for the organization.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs. Juliet Anammah as the substantive Chair of the Nigerian Breweries Plc Board, effective January 1, 2025,” the company stated in an official post on its LinkedIn page. “Mrs. Anammah succeeds our interim Chairman, Mr. Sijbe ‘Siep’ Hiemstra, who led the board from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. We extend our gratitude to Siep for his leadership during a challenging year and appreciate his service as he continues as a member of our board.”

The company further added, “As we welcome Mrs. Anammah, a trailblazing leader who becomes our first female Board Chair, we mark a significant milestone in our company’s history. We look forward to her strategic guidance and vision.”

Mrs. Juliet Anammah is a highly accomplished senior executive with extensive expertise in consumer behavior, strategic planning, and operating model design. Her career spans over 27 years, covering consulting, consumer goods, sales and marketing, and eCommerce. She has a proven track record in developing and implementing strategic roadmaps that improve competitive positioning and financial performance.

She has served on the Board of CGAP, a non-profit agency funded by the IFC/World Bank and other Development Finance Institutions, which focuses on advancing financial inclusion in developing nations. Additionally, she has been a member of the Industrial Council since 2018, a group of private and public sector professionals appointed by the President of Nigeria to craft policies supporting industrial development.

She began her career at Sanofi Aventis, a French pharmaceutical company, where she held various roles in sales, marketing, and product management from 1991 to 1999. She joined Accenture in 1999, rising to the position of Partner/Managing Director, where she led Accenture’s Manufacturing and Consumer Goods Practice across West Africa. In this role, she worked with numerous high-profile clients to enhance operational efficiency and market impact.

Her achievements also include serving on several boards in a non-executive capacity, providing strategic oversight and guidance to various organizations. These roles have reinforced her reputation as a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of the complexities of both local and global markets.

Mrs. Anammah holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and an MBA in Finance. She is also an alumna of the prestigious Wharton Advanced Management Program.
