Godfrey Adejumoh Joins Diageo As Head, Corporate Relations For West & Central Africa

High-flying communications professional, Godfrey Adejumoh, has joined Diageo, multinational beverage giant, as Head, Corporate Relations for West and Central Africa.

In his new role at Diageo, Adejoh is expected to lead corporate communications across all Diageo operations in Nigeria, including overseeing the brand reputation, media relations, stakeholder communications, crisis management, and internal engagement initiatives. His leadership comes at a time when the beverage industry is under pressure to demonstrate stronger commitment to social responsibility, sustainability, and corporate transparency.

His appointment is widely seen as a move by Diageo to consolidate its communication and stakeholder relations at a time when the company is seeking to strengthen its influence in the competitive FMCG and alcoholic beverage landscape.

Adejumoh is a seasoned top-performing Corporate Relations Business Leader, with extensive experience in policy advocacy, campaign planning, implementation, sustainable business, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and strategic corporate communications.

With over 15 years of experience, he has contributed to the reputation management of different multinationals across sectors (Diageo, Unilever, MTN and more). As the Head of Corporate Relations at Diageo West and Central Africa, he supported the business with policy issues management and advocacy to enhance and drive its mission to make a positive socioeconomic impact through its brands and operations by celebrating life every day, everywhere.

He is evolving into General Management with a keen interest in high performance for businesses and developing strategies to help reposition companies to maintain growth within a sustainable development framework.

Prior to his appointment, he served as Communications and Sustainability Lead at Unilever. He also served as Head, Corporate Affairs and Sustainable Business, where he was a trusted advisor to the Managing Director, West Africa and the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring deep strategic relationships with governments, communities and key stakeholders to drive Unilever’s image positively.

His journey into public relations and corporate communications began at SilverBullet Public Relations & Events Management, where he served as a Senior Account Executive between July 2010 and April 2012. He subsequently moved to Chain Reactions Nigeria in 2012 as Assistant Communication Specialist, a role that helped shape his grounding in integrated marketing communications and strategy, as the firm managed several blue-chip client portfolios.

Adejumoh, who announced joining Diageo on his LinkedIn page, also revealed that he “Joined my colleagues in Diageo South, West & Central Africa, led by Christianah O. Robinson, to launch our Learning For Life (L4L) initiative in Nigeria, in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment. Through this initiative, thousands of young people will be empowered with the skills set to work in the hospitality and tourism sector across our West and Central Africa region. Known to be a passionate young professional, Godfrey, who is very strong in strategic communications and ideas with proven skills in managing stakeholders in the line of duty, will find his new job a perfect fit, in line with his love of continuous learning and improvement in his career trajectory.

As an avid writer, Adejumoh consistently contributes to the development of the public relations industry through thought leadership write-ups on issues that enhance knowledge sharing and discourse. He was recently recognised among the top 50 people in the 2025 PR Power List and inducted into The Chartered Institute of Directors, Nigeria – CIoD (Formerly known as IoD Nigeria).

He holds a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Benin.
